Hey guys. I a newb at this but I'm pretty good at following directions and am unsure of where I went wrong.
I'll keep it short stating only what I think is important.

I updated my wii to 3.3u before I ever tried to install any homebrew software.

1. I was able to install the Homebrew channel.
2. Upon trying to install the cios bundled with the wiigator 0.3g download, I got some kind of error after all the downloads so it would not install.
3. I found out that updating to 3.3u was a bad thing (doh!).
4. I followed the directions located in the stickies to fix/patch the 3.3u firmware that should allow everything to work properly again.
5. Installed the the cios that was bundled with 0.3g = success (yay!)
6. Launched 0.3g and attempted to run a backup of Star Wars The Force Unleashed = failed 324 disk read error.
7. Attempted to run a backup of Boogie Superstar = failed 324 disk read error.
8. Attempted to run a backup of Animal Crossing City Folk, which from what I could tell from the compatability list should definately be able to load through this launcher = failed 324 disk read error.

It tried 2 different brands of media burned at various speeds on each game with no luck.

Anyone have an idea of what I'm going wrong?
Any suggestions?

I know I'm new here but I'm just looking for a little help and in the future I hope I can find myself in a position to help others.

Thanks!
gutset

I just realized when checking all my shiny new coasters that I've been burning to 1 type of media. Which is Imation DVD+R.

I'm currently burning another copy of Animal Crossing to a Verbaitm DVD. It doesn't specify + or - on the dvd so i'm unsure of that, possibly +&-

I get the error after choosing launch from the backup launcher menu.
It says Launching Game for about 5 seconds before eventually coming back with the 324 error.

I'll reply back as soon as I try the verbaitm disk.

Well what can I say.

MEDIA MEDIA MEDIA!

Verbatim media at max burn did the trick.

Thanks for the quick response BIG MOE, if you hadn't inspired me to check my media I might have stress over this for another night before figuring it out.

If this forum supported some kind of currency I'd certainly give you some but alas you'll have to make due with a digital pint.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
