I believe I have already patched the AK2i for DSi back when I first got it, I popped it in the DSi and it shows up as Danny Phantom (which I hear it should, but it's stupid), the blue loading text appears then it goes black and won't do anything.

I thought well maybe I didn't actually patch it, so I popped it back in my original DS and tried running both ak2iupdate14 and ak2iupdate14new, both said that the cart can't be updated.

    Am I missing something?

Do you have AKmenu or AKAIO installed?

AKAIO, pretty sure the latest release.

Just to make sure I cleared it and put 1.6RC2 on, now it's slightly different, it'll still boot fine on my phat but the DSi shows a red screen saying it might be fake. :\

If it says the cart can't be updated, you have a clone.

    You should be seeing :
    "CHIP ID:0fc2 HW:8080
This catridge can't be updated." including the spelling error.

It's not possible to update the firmware on these clones because they are clone Acekard 2.1's which have had the 1.4 updated fudged onto them in the factory. If you insert it into a DS Lite, you should see "Acekard 2" instead of "Acekard 2i" in the DS Menu, this will confirm it.

It will work on a DS, but not a DSi.

Where did you get it from?

    Damn it.
When I first got it I did full research to make sure it wasn't a clone (well everything except taking it apart to look at the PCB).

It definitely said 0fc2 8080, but I didn't notice the spelling error.

I ordered from Real Hot Stuff (they were recommended in the dealer list), this is the exact purchase:

I'm afraid it's something RealHotStuff are known for. Contact them and they should replace it. Big thread on it here

When did you buy it from them?

Even after quite a few months? I bought it back in January.
    Anything I should specifically say?
Like just ask for a replacement, or flat out say it's a fake?

That's when they were selling the clones. The Acekard's they are selling now should be genuine.

Just be honest with them, it's clone and they are required to replace it. They said in that thread they will replace them, and it doesn't matter you brought it back in January. Demand your rights!

Ok then, sent the email, I guess I'll just use my DSi as is until I get a replacement, at least it came with Bowser's inside story >_>

Thanks for the help Saturn, guys like you make these forums great.

I thought of something last night, 0ShippingZone said they were RealHotStuff's supplier and were the ones who shipped them the clones http://gbatemp.net/index.php?act=findpost&...amp;pid=2769167

If you get no luck from RHS, why don't you fire off a polite email to 0ShippingZone and see if they are willing to replace it? Presumably if you send the card back to RHS, they then send it back to 0SZ for a credit anyway.
