First I would like to say thank you for doing this. My bro and I thought a translation for this game would never happen. You are awesome for doing this amazing work I really appreciate you taking out your time to translate this game. It is a dream come true for me to be able to play this game I am really really happy that you are doing this. However I have just have two questions, first what is the translated title of game going to be? There is a old youtube video of someone else who was test translating it and they called it chibi robo happy rich sweeping.

Are you going to something similar to that or is it going to be a straight translation of the original title? My second question is a bit big but after you finish this project do you think you can translate the japanese wii version of chibi robo in english using the gamecube script? That would be cool too.
I see thanks for the reply. Doing a translation and studying is pretty big and fact that you are doing it alone too is definitely time consuming. I agree that doing another translation would be too much. As for the name of the ds game I have seen another translation and it is called "Welcome Home Little Robo! Happy, Rich Big Sweep" A name I can think of over the top of my head is "Chibi-Robo Happy Vacuum Adventure!" I think the name is pretty simple and fits the series. Since the names went from things like "Make It Bloom! Little-Robo!" to "Chibi-Robo Park Patrol" and "Chibi-Robo Photography" to "Chibi-Robo Let's Go, Photo" to "Chibi Robo Photo Finder". I think "Welcome Home Little Robo! Happy, Rich Big Sweep" to "Chibi-Robo Happy Vacuum Adventure" fits pretty well.I've briefly considered the naming issue before, but I've not come to any conclusion on what to do yet. The literal translation is "Welcome Home, Chibi-Robo! - Happy, Rich, Major Cleaning!", which sounds kinda "meh". Using "sweeping" like the previous unfinished translations doesn't fit very well either, since a vacuum is the main cleaning tool used in the game, not a sweeper. I'll continue to think about it before I make a final decision, if I can't think of anything worthwhile then I'll just use the literal translation just mentioned. You guys can feel free to come with name proposals too, if you think you have one that sounds nice.
Sorry but no, I won't be translating the Wii game (using existing script or not). It's too time consuming and I'll be finished with my studies this summer, after that it's full time work and I simply won't have the time to do it. I've spent hundreds of hours on this one already and I'm getting kinda sick of it.
I have an idea for a title as well! Considering the premise of the game and the Japanese title...how about this?I see thanks for the reply. I like this reasoning, and I agree that a short non-cheesy title should be used, as all western titles have been modified in that way. Though I find your proposal a bit too generic and cheesy. As for the name of the ds game I have seen another translation and it is called "Welcome Home Little Robo! This is nice and satisfies the above reasoning. Only problem is that "clean sweep" has another meaning that is unrelated to cleaning. But I might choose to use it anyway!I have an idea for a title as well! Considering the premise of the game and the Japanese title...how about this?
Chibi-Robo: Clean Sweep
So i've been sitting here for like 2 hours trying to figure out how to use cwgwin and I've decided that I can't do it. Would you be ok with PMing me a compiled version of what currently exists now? I would really appreciate it.
--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------
I just realized that might not be allowed. If it isn't that's fine.

It's fine, just keep in mind that it's a build not even ready for beta release. I still fix tons of errors all the time, so I don't recommend using it.
Also, wouldn't it be easier to use CMake?

Patch with XDelta.
If you don't know how, Google it.
Not Cjuub's fault nor mine if you screw something up when attempting to patch.
(If Cjuub wants this to be removed, just ask.)
Hi fellow Chibi Robo fans. Just like everyone here, I wanted to say thanks for all your hard work, Cjuub. All the screenshots look great. It can be frustrating doing this and we really appreciate it. Chibi Robo is such a fun character and we're all so excited to have some more of him to play.

master801 - Thanks for the xdelta, but I'm not seeing any difference in the xdelta-patched rom. The new patched file is 49mb, 4a3e1a3b66d46bcaa431c9261ed9430d. I'm going to check out Cjuub's latest work from github later tonight. I see that Cjuub really is working all the time there

Thanks for reporting this, but I'm unable to replicate this error from a clean clone from github, I've tried on both Linux and Windows+cygwin.
I'm guessing you're getting segfaults due to missing files, I have very bad error checking in the code for that. If you cloned the repo a long time a ago, then you need to rerun './scripts/extract_original_files.sh' before './scripts/build_translated_rom.sh', not doing this could typically produce the above error.
Otherwise, try:
* make clean; make
* be sure 'tools/ndstool.exe' has dependencies needed since you're running in cygwin. It will give errors when running './scripts/extract_original_files.sh' if you don't.
* restart with a new clone from github.
... If that doesn't work then I don't know what's causing it. The command giving segfault is correct.
