Hacking Enabling 1.50 kernel mode for firmware 6.60?

Hey all. I'm trying to use an old homebrew application for the PSP 1000 called Universal Remote. It seems this doesn't work on newer firmwares, and I've seen internet discussions as early as 2007 talking about "enabling" an addon for newer firmwares to act like 1.50 for compatibility of this and other applications. Here is a dev article explaining the addon. However, there is no information for firmwares newer than 5.xx, and I haven't been able to find anything about 1.50 compatibility on latest PSP firmware. Taking into account this is about the kernel/firmware, I don't want to risk bricking my unit, hence I've come here to ask about this issue. Can anyone help?

There is sadly no such support implemented anymore on later custom firmware versions

I don't know much about this but try searching for leda. I think it may work on LME?

Try to use Time Machine or LEDA plugin.
