I bought an Elink Flash Cart about three years ago and it worked fine at the time. I booted it up again recently only to find out the hard way that whenever I save a game, the next time I boot up the card it says the save file was corrupt and deletes it.

My main question here, if anyone knows, is whether this is an issue with the Elink cart (battery running out?), or something else like the DS itself. I’d hate to pick up an EZ Flash IV only to find the issue was my system the whole time.

Any help is appreciated.

Battery is likely dead or near dead. They stopped making it in 2009. That is already almost 3 years, reguardless of when you bought it (battery life drain starts when it is soldered to the board, not when you bought it).

It uses the same size battery found in a 3in1. As to wheither it is rechargable or not, can't tell since there are no visible markings available on a battery that size.

Your options are:
A. replace it.
B. try recharging it for 8 hours. If it still does a "save is corrupt" message, you got a dead battery.
