it's gonna take a lot of time though, so don't expect something complete anytime soon this year
also, since we'll be translating the korean one, the current percentages are null and void

Wow. Do you ever need an editor with the quality of English in those pics. No offense intended to T/L, I’m sure it’s a very early version, but it’s in desperate need of attention.

The font looks very clean, though.

it's early work, that was just translated not even a day or two ago

criticism doesn't really bother me, but if the translation bothers you so much, please go right on ahead and whine

C'mon dude read before saying something.

QUOTE(Noitora @ Feb 6 2010, 09:19 PM) OK guys, here are some screenshots of the new font [...]

Noitora is showing the font, Not the translation, He said these aren't edited yet, Also Big Kong Boss is Korean, I wouldn't get mad at him for having some errors.

Guys - he asked for an editor, so yes, I commented on the editing. I went there. Rather than ask me to whine, why not ask if I’d be interested in editing myself? I’ve done my own translation project, and am mostly trilingual and well aware of what rough translations look like.

I also commented on the font. I stated it was very nice.

Alright, I'll take back my statement on the whining, but before you say you've done your own project, that link shows up as a 404 error and goes straight to a search engine.

also, I just rewrote what I had translated, so hopefully Noitora will replace the old screens with some new ones.

if you please Noitora :3

I’m just not a big signature person. I notice you lack a signature as well.
I'm sharing this account with my little brother, because I'm too lazy to make my own, but to be on topic
Started working on the events, finished about 5-10% of it.

I'd like to opt myself for editing... as for my qualifications. I study the English language at university and will most likely have a lot of free time the next couple of months... if you'd like to test me pm me some raw translations and I'll edit it.

English is better, game still makes no sense
happy.gif

A couple missing periods. (2x first image, 1x last image?)
That huge run on sentence should be broken up. (2x image)
Some weird capitalization (1st and 3rd images)
Last few sentences are not properly structured. (3rd image)

And, like I said, the content is strangely abbreviated. As someone who knows nothing about the game. I am immediately confused.

It’s unclear exactly what sort of things “elements” are. They’re referred to first as a category of things, and as a sentient being, and then as objects, and then as either sentient beings or objects twice more.

Jigu is also unclear. Is it a place? A building? A city? A nation? Jigu’s resistance has a bad structure to it as well. It should be ‘the resistance of Jigu’ or better yet ‘the Jigean resistance’.

You also say that the “elements” were lost. Then… they’re found in the next line?! Also, some of that sentence is redundant. Then, the image after, you now have to “find” the elements that “were once lost”. It becomes quickly nonsensical. You can’t find something that isn’t lost.

Okay, edit over.

Okay, edit over.
Let me remind you that the text is unedited.

Also, I don't really call that editing, more like criticism.
The fact is the game's home planet is based on earth, but is called Jigu in the game.
Also the elements should be pretty easy to figure out seeing as you're "hunting" for them. If you played the game, even if it was in japanese, you'd still be able to figure out what exactly is going on. They found where they were hidden in, basically in monsters.
Just sit tight.

This is what editing is, guys. Controlling for grammar, structure, and content. I didn’t mean to be mean - I was attempting to help. I will stick to not helping in the future, and my apologies if it felt like I was imposing on you or criticizing your work. I am aware it is not near completion, and that quality will improve over time.

As for the last comments, those are very nice facts - they should be in the text. Even if it’s clear what’s going on in the game, if the text doesn’t coincide with that, it’s going to seem confusing.

I will restrain my comments from now on to general encouragements, unless asked to respond to something in particular.
