Hacking DVDX capability

Last night I updated my Wii from 4.1U to 4.2U using xzxero’s update guide. During the update I installed DVDX which I understand will allow me to watch DVDs. Do I need a specific application to view DVDs or can I play them through a Backup Loader?

You need a media player. I personally use Mplayer TT, but I think it's outdated. Go get Mplayer CC from Wiibrew. That will play DVDs.
