Hacking DVD to SD channel?

A homebrew channel "ticket" is no worse or better than any other ticket... what Renegade_R is saying is that it is, by his guess, better to have fewer tickets on your Wii. (Which is debatable anyway)

Why would you not want the homebrew channel anyway? It really is a fine piece of work and makes launching a lot of homebrew easier.

im scared for the next the next update on a big game (like a new zelda) because i have TONS of tickets on my system, and i dont remember everyone i installed!
im gonna be up all night before the release...

I think benny's fear is that if he installs the hbc, its ticket can't be deleted easily. whereas, the ticket of an installed wad can be deleted later using the wad manager. hbc can only be uninsatlled using the wii system menu leaving bits and pieces behind. Am I right? I am wary of that too.

Don't get me wrong, i think the HBC is really cool and I have it installed. Its only issues for me are its uninstallation and the fact that it connects to the internet each time it boots up (i think to check for new versions).

BACK TO TOPIC: I'm also looking for a way to dump DVD to SD, but the sddvd app won't run on my wii. I think the WiiKey config DVD has a DVD dump feature. haven't tried it though

The HBC has a ticket.... the Title ID is HAXX.

Just make any WAD with that Title ID and it'll be uninstalled completely... ticket and all.

Why on earth would you not want to support the homebrew channel? It's well-made and much work was put into it's creation. The creators deserve major props.

The only reason I see why you wouldn't want to support it is if you know someone from Team Twiizers IRL and you have a grudge against them. Or if you work for a modchip company and you don't want the a possible ISO loader loadable through the HBC to replace modchips.

Strange. You increase the chances of bricking your Wii and running out of space by using custom channels. The HBC works very well, the latest version has increased the SD load times no end and if you install the FTP server you don't even need to take the SD card out of the Wii to load stuff onto it!

You need to use the SD card to hold ROMs and install the channels anyway, so why not cut down on the wear n tear on your SD slot and use the HBC?

I already provided the Title ID for the Homebrew Channel, so it can be removed COMPLETELY, including the ticket.

Again, the Title ID is HAXX.

Make a WAD(any wad will do) with that Title ID and use the WAD Manager to remove it. If you don't know how to edit the Title ID, do a search, I've posted it several times.

Please keep in mind that while you are only able to remove a channel's data (i.e. WAD and ticket, playtime logs via formatting), you will not be able to remove all traces of its installation and usage. The Wii's system keeps records in several places a WAD uninstaller does not even have access to.
