Thanks for the files! It sounds so much better.

I didn't realize when you die you can 'rewind' and start playing from any point. That's pretty neat. I'm starting to like this official port.

cpasjuste has just released a new revision, with the latest commits from GIT revision, netcode (untested) and compiled of course with the latest libnx

https://github.com/Cpasjuste/eduke32/releases/tag/v1.5

it's time to kick a$$

Thanks you so much @cpasjuste
ps : showing some (firmware 12+) love to your reminiscence port would kick MY a$$

Most excellent to see some more love for this port! One question though, is it possible to use custom GRP files for maps or mods?

@cpasjuste Hey, just installed your port and it runs great. Really happy with performance as well. Everything works as it should.

I've gone through this thread and found some conflicting information. I'm trying to get the official add-ons running. But I can't seem to get them to work. I've tried editing the config file but I'm unsure about folder structure or whether I'm even doing it correctly. Could I possibly get some help with this?

Thanks!

With the older version I think you needed a .nro compiled specifically for each add on pak.

I can upload those for you. Those are a few versions old though. I'm not sure if the latest version requires that.

To play the add ons you put the .grp into the root folder. Replace the default .grp. you might need to edit a config file to point to it. I'll check when I get home today.

At worst I can upload you the individual folders for each DLC as a separate launch.

I checked.

In the latest version cpajustes github has (1.5) all you need is to have the expansion add on .grp files in the eduke32 folder and then edit the eduke32.cfg file to point to the add on .grp you want.

example for nuclear winter.

also @matthew77 PM me I have files I cant post them here

This is what I use if anybody is interested.
Drop the duke3d.grp into each folder and the appropriate dlc.grp into their folder.
Each eduke32.cfg has been edited with dukedc.grp, nwinter.grp and vacation.grp (just make sure that is what they are named)
All I did was edit the name and the picture of the v1.5 nro from Cpasjuste.

Anyone know if Redneck Rampage GRP Files can be Loaded?
It can't. If you really wanna play that on Switch then look into installing android. Then you can use 'Raze Touch' app. Theb you can play Redneck Rampage, Blood, NAM and Shadow Warrior. (Also Hexen 2 with Quad Touch)

It's a bit of a setup for Android. A few hours but definitely worth it.

The aiming sensitivity is extremely slow, especially the Y axis. Any way to fix this? Options are useless.
What options exactly are you modifying?

I just checked and Options -> control setup -> controller setup, has turn and aim sensitivity slider. Crank it all the way up to 50%+

Also Advanced -> edit axis and triggers -> right stick, also has the same sensitivity slider too.

I download latest 1.5 version and checked myself and it works fine. Is set to like 5% very low like you say but cranked up to 35% up works good.

Who wants some!

I finally got the addon packs working. This gem most definitely needs a Duke32 launcher just like GZdoom and/or Chocolate Doom has for sure.

It's a shame those high res packs don't run to good on the switch. They look really nice. :D However for me it would occasionally crash and even got to the point it was crashing before the level loaded. We really need a retro hi-res pack.. something that still bumps up the res but isn't so burdensome on lesser systems.

Is there a way to play Blood with this? I am new to the Switch modding.
No. Only Duke 3D.

If you look into setting up Android on Switch you can install Zeta Touch app. Let's you play Blood, Redneck Rampage, Shadow Warrior, Powerslave etc. definitely worth the effort of setting up Android
