Hacking DSTWO stuck at screen showing DS_GAME and current date

still doesn't work, so i ordered a new one from a north american site...
hopefully no one else has to deal with this bs... it's almost as if my card won't update its firmware, even tho it says it does when i try...

well now i have two cards with the same problem...now i think it may be a compatibility issue with my dsl... and sometimes it will not even boot to the main menu while the dstwo cards are inserted, instead it tryed to boot the white nintendo screen and fails...any further ideas of what to do would be helpful. i should also note that quite often i can resolve the issue by plugging the ds into the wall...?
