Hacking DSLite usb wire question

I'm thinking about getting a ds lite usb cable, I have a question about it though. If I plug it in then I know the ds lite will charge but while the m3 real can is in the ds, would I be able to access the sd card like a mass storage device, being able to transfer homebrew files etc back and forth? Eliminating the process of having to take my sd card in and out of the m3 real adapter, thanks.

There is no data connection in the DSlite port, charging the battery is the only possible use for anything that plugs into to.

The USB charger is made specifically for charging so that means it does not interact with any other part of the DS other than the battery it's charging.
