Hacking DSi Upgrade

Guys,

I think the answer is yes to this but just want clarification.

I have an AceKard 2i upgraded to firmware 1.41 and running AKAIO.1.8.1

The DSi XL is running 1.4E.

Can I upgrade the DSi XL to the latest DS firmware and the AceKard 2i will still work?
