Heya,

I've been looking around for a while and I couldnt find my answer.

I have a european DSi and im going to order a Japanese pokemon White game, but I've heard that DSi enchanted games have a lock.
I know this is true but i've been testing on a flashcard. and some USA games (dsi enchanted) give me a error. but most Japanese dsi enchanted games like RPG maker did work.

do roms still have the region lock? or did they get it out? or does JAP and EUR have the same region like dvds? PAL.

thanks for your help!

RPG Maker DS (a Nipponese game) works in an American DS Flashcard, as long as you interrupt the save half-way (as I have read in another comment)...

hmm, well I have a European DSi it would be great to play the new pokemon games on it, but the Japanese ones probably wont work on it right?

because im getting the real games. kinda sad I have to go back to my ds lite then.

Kinda used to the larger screens now

games in DSi mode always have a region lock.

the reason DSi-enhanced games from other regions work through a flashcard is because they are run in DS-mode so the region lock isn't activated.

this means that if you buy the japanese pokemon white it will not run on your DSi, but it runs fine on a regular DS.

aw thanks, thats what I wanted to know!
Just wanted to be sure, guess I just have to wait then and use the dslite for now.

thanks again!

[EDIT]

Someone on Play Asia said that only SOME games are region protected. and that it depends on the age/parent control thing.

its a very slight change but hopefully pokemon is still playable then.

No, pkmn will be region locked. either dl it, or buy european version.
