Anyway, getting the guy who made the first DSi homebrew and the guy who helped make the Wii homebrew channel together would be an awesome combination to get this thing done with.

Nobody has made any DSi homebrew yet and I can't see bushing offering to help. Most people will be more interested in the ability to get free DSiWare then actual DSi homebrew and bushing is pro-homebrew and anti-piracy. Give it time and someone with the capabilities will make a homebrew channel but don't be surprised if it doesn't allow the installation of DSiWare, someone else will have to get the info and code the stuff for that one in a similar way to what Waninko and Wiigator did.

Unless it's running in DS mode on a traditional cart (R4i, Acekardi, etc. etc.), then it's considered a DSi hack. Whether or not it has anything to do with DSi Ware and the creation of homebrew is another story.

It's running in DS mode through a DS game save exploit. It wasn't running in DSi mode. It's considered a DSi hack but there's no DSi specific homebrew. There's nothing that can access the extra features that the DSi has.

I just want to see an NES Emulator as DSi Ware. Not official, I am talking unofficial.
Remember the Virtual Console Injectors? Why not take the DSi Ware and look at it like this?;
(Binary{Encoding[Program]})
Crack the Bin>Spot the Encoding>Locate the "Actual Program/Image/Etc" and edit it or make your own! Then we can make Emulaton for the DSi, and take advantage of the bigger processor!
I would like to see a better DSi Internet thing, FirefoxDSi anyone?

And I personally think GBA Emulation on the DSi is possible, (Remember, it has a bigger processor!) if there still isn't enough space, use the SD Card as a "Virtual Memory Bank!" Too bad I don't know how this binary crap works, or I would have hacked the DSi by now. I would have attempted to create a GBA Emulator, but I don't, so...sorry.

What do people use to make homebrew programs? Do they use C++? Just curious.

I highly doubt it's that easy, remember nintendo most likely learned from it's mistakes

And to answer your question, most people use C/C++, I think that python may have been an option, and possibly lua

wouldn't nintendo try to stop this with an update?
waiting for results
that be awesome to do..

They don't have anything to stop yet but when the time comes that somebody finds something, than yes they will most likely try to find an update, however when they do that somebody will likely find a way around it

they need to stop dsi karts... good luck on the channel ^^ hope all goes well!

The time for flaming has arrived.

You are all n00bs. You know nothing. No point in trying stuff you have no idea about. Only helpful thing you could do is run the bruteforcer and hope luck is with you.

Yeah you keep telling yourself that. Most of the people who are posting here aren't even involved. The ones who are really doing things are keeping quiet about it.

QFT.

For now, I'm trying to help with running the bruteforcer. I'm able to run it 16(!)times at one. Maybe it's useful, I hope so.

That's the plan, though unless we can find a way to run .nds files, the only way to make homebrew for the dsi will be to make a dsiware .bin kinda thing (kinda like the wads on wii)

Soooo... After 21 pages it's still where it started?

My idea: make a hack to run .nds homebrew first, then go for the harder stuff.

And right now I am cracking that ticket so it can be used on more than one DSi System. Once I figure out how the files are written I will work on the homebrew channel for the DSi.

the IPHONE also needs that ticket, you must acquire a legit one first before you can copy over others, then there is a self install pack and you just copy over the ones you need, saurik should be able to help you out greatly with that

great if you got him on your team I LOVE CYDIA

to be honest, i doubt this thread will go anywhere useful. i hope i'm wrong but...

anyway, i believe we must wait for a DS/DSi game ( i.e. one which works in both, but has extra feature on DSi) which we should be able to dump the save from using a regular DS and a flash card. Then we can hack the save, put it back in the game using DS and flash card, and put it i DSi, where it will boot in DSi mode, then hopefully the hacked save will allow us to create a buffer overflow, allowing us to run unsigned code, in DSi mode. But for that we must wait till there is a DS/DSi game...

keep going with this, i hope something does happen, but i'm guessing it wont.

Keep it up! the wii was hacked with a hombrew channel the DSi can be hacked too. I am about to get a DSi myself and i am hoping for some amazing homebrew! I can't help you (java junkie) but I can give my moral support and keep tabs here.

I mostly use my DS lite for music, but I am going to buy a DSi flash cart (bought like over 50 DS games before my M3 and not going to again unless they are from the shop channel or I really like them!)

Keep up the (hopefully) fruitful work!
