Gaming DSi gap when closed question

hello,
i put on this clear protective case on my dsi. didn't like it and had a hell of a time getting it off. when the DSi is closed now there is a small gap instead of the top and bottom fitting together sealed when closed. Is this normal because i didn't check before i put the case on. thank you!

my guess is a loose hinge its normal as the ds is aged (opened and closed)

huh, i thought i posted in this thread.. well, my internet fell away

anyway, here's what i found when i first read your post:
my dslite (no protectors) has a ~0.25 mm gap when closed. it's about 2 years old.

edit: WHAT THE FUCK-- it fell away again, just as i want to post this.

thanks, i just got the DSi today so if it's supposed to do that when it's two years old then i messed up putting on the case.

no, i dont think so, as i treat my ds very carefully. it's not very visible anyway, you just see a shadowy line.
