Playing with cameras and emulating a system are two entirely unrelated things.

QUOTE(vergilite @ Aug 7 2009, 05:38 AM) CHRIST is this thread still going

yes, because people have interest in it.

interest in what ??
this theory has been dis-proven and anyhow it is more likely big n will port there vc games like wii not use actual emulation

Dear noobs, please refrain from talking BS if you don't know what you're talking about. Let's examine some stuff:

1. Some GBA ROMs don't fit into the DSi RAM. Even 16 Mb ones would have a hard time because they wouldn't leave a single bit for anything else. For example, for the DSi dashboard.

2. Streaming wouldn't be a magic solution, the games would need to be adapted to do that, inserting loading screens at certain points to avoid ugly slowdowns. Accessing the cart contents on a GBA was as simple as using a C pointer because the cart, once inserted, was pretty much part of the console hardware. The DSi internal memory is flash-based, there's no way on earth for it to be as fast as a cart, let alone de SD card.

3. DS' GBA compatibility isn't any kind of emulation, Nintendo just included the whole GBA hardware into the console. The DSi cameras are very, very far from being EyeToys, they're just standard 640x480 cameras.

WE CAN because there is no SOLID proof to whether or not nintendo will even use vc on the dsi so why bother speculating and wasting time until we can put some solid proof in how nintendo plan to use gba games on dsi (if they ever do)

...you're the one who's speculating here. So you're saying that, because there's no solid proof, that we CAN do GBA emulation on the DSi? They MIGHT do it, but why worry about it now? If they do it, they do, if not, they don't. It's as simple as that, really.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
