The R4, also knowns as R4DS... the meaning is Revolution for (4) DS. The card has an size of an normal game-card, still it's very different it has build in Moonshell (an media player for music, it can shows images and movies, you can also read text on it) With the card you can also boot up from the slot-2 and automatic skips the slot selection part from nintendo itself. Now the mainpart: Games; with this you can play games and homebrew! it has an homebrew dldi auto-patcher, a cheat-function... i think for both the newest firmware is required. The R4 can hold up a size up to 2 gb, this with a Mini SD card, so not a internal memory(so EXTERNAL) the R4 is very easy, it comes with a card reader and works with any OS, you can adjust the theme very easy! The game compability is like 100% (in my experience) and download-play too(in my experience) All homebrew things with dldi work, for other i am not that sure. I hope you have enough information!

Jerbob explained it well, but he didnt say that you cannot fot 200+ games on it.

I doubt youd get 200+ on a 4gb, nevermind 1 or 2gb...

In shot from above, it helps u listen to music and lets u store all your games in one memory card without u having to move around everywhere with the cartridges and also lets u play amazing programs made by ppl which is stored in the card

Thanks that is great. So lets say I get this R4, will it screw up my DS or does it think I am just playing another game?
Also how easy is it to do this kinda of thing, I used to fix satellite cards but thats about it.
How hard is it to find games and how long does it take to download them to the OS and then to put them on a card?

Sorru for all the questions, and thanks in advance for the answers.

Well, if you get them from a certain website which im notallowed to say for rule reasons, even big ROM oinly take about 5-8 mins.

The games are amazingly easy to find.

It will not screw up your DS, it just acts like another DS cartridge, but you dont gt the welcome screen.

There are some pretty nifty themes for it too.

And to put them on the card for me takes about 1 and a half mins, depending on the ROM size, but i have an old computer with USB 1.1, so if you had 2.0, it would be much faster.

OS? thats a mac, right?

well, i have windows, so i dont know im afraid

Misread what you said.

Yes, the R4 is the best one there is IMO.

Better than M3simply, because it just... Looks nicer.

Oh and youdont have to flash the DS so you keep your warranty if it gets dropped or something ( that is, if you havent had your ds for over a year)

actually we don't allow discussions to download games (although that's what ppl want it for) and there is no effect on DS completely as it is a normal cartridge-like device that is simple to configure and easy to put yer games in.
There is no such thing as fixing it or anything just plug it in slot-1

DS roms are really small compared to other consoles so it really wont take long to download. They mostly come in zip or rar formats when you download them making them even smaller

Well, it all depends on what size the ROMs are.

I have about 18 on my 1gb, but 1/3 of those are like 125 mb....

And some are only 14.

Just keep adding them until it gets full, then delete some/buy a bigger memory stick.

No, moonshell is a player on its own, you just select the file and it will play. I dont use the R4 for Music though, only games, but i did test it out and it worked great.

Looking at pictures=Same As Above. Just select the .jpg or whatever.

Well, the three main ROM types are European, US, and Japanese, but i believe you can get them in a variety of languages like spanish, french and german.
