Not at all, the 3DS just has the hardware to runr DS game, maybe patching both TWL_FIRM and Bootloader we can get something. However, I own two flashcards (R4i SDHc and DSTWO), this is not just for "cheap" piracy, its about science.
What I wrote was the opinion of respected developers/hackers. "maybe patching we can get something": this doesn't make sense, you can't "get something" because it's the games themselves (in their code) that directly attempt to read the gamecard. So you have to heavily patch each game.

Noob question. What exactly is stopping someone from doing the coding equivalent of Ctrl+F "loadCart" and replace all instances with "loadSD"?

Well if flashcards's devs can get that, then Whats the problem?

Because "coding" without the source code is not text in a text file.

Flashcards... are gamecards.

Maybe it's more of hardware attack? flashcart = game card stimulation to trick the 3DS to recognize it as a legit game card then run unsigned code?

Wild idea, maybe a hack/homebrew on the game card loader on 3Ds that makes 3DS mistake 3DS game card as DS card?

this thread is so sad, all the noobs liking each others posts and hoping/believing each other whilst the informed and knowledgeable users are ignored and thought of as pessimistic...
lol
@Aurora Wright just leave them to hope haha
Pretty sure I'm one of those "noobs" you mentioned. You're right. I'm not denying what you guys are saying. I pretty much stopped "trying" after Aurora gave that speech. Yeah, flashcarts are pretty cheap, so why not just buy one?
Eh, whatever. We're noobs who know nothing, lol.

Don't be a tight ass, $15 is not much at all and nothing is free in this life, even piracy. There's always a cost somewhere. :P

Nah :P it's not that. I can easily afford one, have a few flashcarts already. Just waiting until I have the time to buy another one for my n3DS.
But yeah, piracy is never free lol. Pirating on your 3DS? Well you most likely bought the thing.

I'm a little slow...what does this mean?

The entire thread? Not a whole lot has happened. The OP was trying to encourage people to research the DS mode of the 3DS, and most of the pages are filled with speculation more than research or actual facts (though posts by Apache Thunder, Aurora, and a few others are fine).

Ooooh, I see now, thanks for the help. ^^

Just one thing, If we have the hardware to run a system, then is possible. Just to be clear, I'm not as "noob" as you mean, i have some knowledge about C++, Java and engineering. By that way, by some reason the word "noob" is specially used by immature people.

i never said it wasn't possible, but it is very improbable that someone will make good progress.
injecting dsiware into the 3ds is not new, and it does not mean that normal ds roms will be able to work as simple as that.
