Hey guys, I need game suggestions pretty quickly.

My nephew turns 5 now, and he will get a DS. I just need to know what games to get for him too.
So far I've chosen Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros., Kirbys Canvas Curse and Lego Marvel.

Please keep in mind that he's a 5 year old Swedish kid, so even though Pokemon is quite easy, it's still too advanced for him (both gameplay and the language).

I'd be really happy if you know any games :)

    NO COFFEI!
Personally when I was just above that age I LOVED pokemon, zelda, drilldozer (gba) and a ton of other games too. Especially pokemon though! I couldn't beat any of them but they were amazing!

    my dad works for nintendo.
when he knows how to read...
make him whatch the swedish pokemon show, try the first episodes and get him to play pokemon firered or leafgreen...
    or skip the show...
trust me.. this will teach him english....
i had my first pokemon game at 7 or 8 IIRC, it was a german cartridge...
after a while i could understand some german....
later i got english games and well, in the school english class was really easy for me, i was way more advanced than other kids...
I could read everything in english, barely there was a word that i didn't know the meaning, thankful to games, while the school kids barely could read a sentence...

i am really thankful that today i can understand and talk in english...
so yeah... teach your kid as soon as possible...

Most of the english should be easy to understand, it's a kid friendly game after all.

    Never too young for tetris.
Equally maybe get them to muddle through mario or something. Many many years ago I was also young and got a go on Mario on the original gameboy, could barely get the idea of a running jump going on but I remember it to this day. I then wonder if we are not doing people a disservice by coddling them somewhat.

Also in case you missed it there are a surprising number of games in Swedish, from http://www.advanscene.com/
As you might imagine then most are tie in games and dross but there are some good things in there (the transformers games for one are not so bad)
    Warning: Spoilers inside!

Beyond that if you have GBA capability as part of this you have a few more options, my favourite being Tonka - On the Job.

How about Rhythm Paradise(also known as Rhythm Heaven or Rhythm Tengoku Gold). This type of game is always fun and extremly easy to understand

    Thank you all so much!
Some games I do consider be too difficult for him, like Pokémon, because I know the kid too well. He borrowed one of his older brothers' DS to play Mario Kart on multiplayer, was driving into a wall while watching TV, wondering why he didn't win ;) (Yeah, the attention span isn't all that great, especially not good enough for turn based fighting, strategies and ball management).

Games like Rhythm Paradise, Elite Beat Agents and the like isn't for him as well, since he hasn't got the rhythm and motor skills down all that well yet.

I had no idea that there were that many Swedish NDS games, @FAST6191 ! How wondeful. I'll pick out a good number of games from that list that I think will suit him.
