well all you need do do is hack the ds flirmware so it can run game from sd they have hacked the gba rxtools has agb patching so why could there not be twl patching

I'm not entirely sure about it anymore, but I remember something in the lines of that.

the ds flirmware can be hacked with cfw though to run games of sd but yeah your not gonna have ds games on the homemennu you have to boot into ds mode with download play or using a game

with a moded twl it could work you press a button when you boot into ds mode and it runs game off sd
