I'm pretty much a noob, but wouldn't it be possible to find a kernel exploit in TWL_FIRM, that can be adressed through a userland DSi-Exploit(like sudokuhax) and then be able to run something like a modified R4 Menu?

Whatever's useful is sandboxed off, and some hardware is disabled.
Trying to do it from inside dsi mode is just like doing it on a real dsi.

No one would make an emulator for ds on 3ds, it's a waste of time, when they can make something like nintendont to use the hardware and play games perfectly. Flashcarts are 15$ so no one will make it either way.

Make something like Nintendon't? Nintendon't is a cross of emulation and virtual console. The wii plays gamecube... The 3DS plays ds... So if they made something like Nintendon't for 3DS it would most likely run DS games.
