There was actually already a game called CrossworDS. Nintendo has this listed as Crossword DS on their site.

It's pretty good, although I'm liking NYTimes Crosswords interface a little bit more. I'm sure I just need to play this one one more for it to grow on me. (although I wish there was a pop-up keyboard available also...or is there one and I just missed it?)

IGN gave it a good review.

Yeah, they also rated Picross higher than Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword. To each his own, I suppose, but I can't see the appeal of this when I can just as easily bring the paper to the toilet with me. And if I get bored with the crossword, I can check out the latest news.

I think that's another game completely. Well at least CrossworDS's ROM is half the size, might test to tell for sure but the only another name IGN states for Crosswords DS is "Nintendo Crossword". Also this game is quite new and CrossworDS is an old release. The Europe release is still yet to come. Also I've seen this on one of my usual sites already so I'll go check it out.

Finally located it. It's pretty much what was expected. Nothing fancy, but the controls are good. Certainly not as difficult as NYTimes, but might be worth a look.

Definatley worth a look. The only thing I can complain about is every time you put in a letter the screen moves left and right but never down
