I played it for about 20mins, dunno if saves are working or not, but dang did the controls make my hands hurt! Also my interest in the game after playing has gone down, I liked the DK country games, but this one doesn't seem quite as fun.

very cool game but there's one level later in the game where you have to fly up in space with a jetpack avoiding mines that move towards you all the time. very hard

Yessss Papa !! I was not aware that there were any arm7 problems and arm7 solutions. My bad. The arm7 fix I found on GBAtemp worked bros ! But I had to write my backup in 4*DMA option to make it work.

ARM7 fix works on DS-X

Edit: Save seems to be working as well with the fix.

Also, I find this game very fun. The controls don't bother me. I never played the other. The tutorials were not to exciting, but they were worth doing to learn how to play. There is nothing like an item collection game to pass the time!

I can confirm that the Supercard DS One DOES NOT need the ARM7 fix, just drag-and-drop and you're good to go!

Not to say that I'm stumped, but really because swinging on pegs is extremely fulfilling

The Arm7 fix is such a love-hate relationship.

I love it, because it makes my games work.

I did like the premises of the first GBA title, and I like this one even better , based on the first 1/2 hour of gameplay, but there is something about the graphic style that I find less appealing that new SM bros for example.
Even on the GBA they decided to change the look of the sprites from other DK games, so this series kind of lucks colorful backgrounds and sprites that we all come to love and expect from Nintendo.
It's still great looking, but the characters look like they've been cut and pasted from another game into this one......weird explanation I know but I can't quite find a better way of putting this down....
Seem to be a great game never the less.

i agree it's weird because parts of DK were cut off to make the animations work, but it looks even weirder. lol. gameplay, kind of sucks because my left button doesn't work well...lol...is there a way where you can check the controls? like A and the control pad to the left?

I haven't tried this without the ROM being trimmed yet but it has locked up on me twice (black screen) on two different bosses where I would get a black screen. I used SkinnyROM to trim. I played the Japanese version (finished 100% of DK levels) and it never locked on me. I bypassed the movie portion by pressing the start button the next time. Hmmm now that I think about it, for most of the talking sequences I would hit the start button on the Japanese version since I didn't know what dialogue was being said anyhow.

Anyone else having a similar problem?

Doesn't work on EZV ("Unable to read data...blabla"), even after arm7 fix (donors: 0864, 1103). Need another donors to try. Any ideas?
Edit: works fine with the right save type: 2m flash

Is it much better than the GBA version? I'm not really into collecting, though I don't mind puzzling or finding secrets. The GBA one was a little too simple for my tastes.

If you enjoyed the premise of the GBA version but didn't like it for its simplicity and short levels then you'll love this one!

I played the Japan version. In my opinion one of the best platformer ever on DS lite. Funny and full of surprises and variety, like New super mario bros should have been.
