Originally released January 2016 for PS4 and Vita, Dragon Quest Builders established itself as a fun and interesting spin on the Minecraft sandbox formula. After being announced for Nintendo Switch in August, the game finally has a release date. Along with the Switch's unique hybrid functionality, this version will also include exclusive experiences and items.

Was it actually confirmed?! Oh boy oh boy
It was actually one of the first Switch games to ever be revealed, haha. The summer before we even knew what the Switch was, a Square Enix rep said at some game expo that the game was in development for Switch (at the time, Nintendo NX). We've known about it for quite a while. It's confirmed to be getting a Switch port powered by Unreal Engine 4 in 2018, as well as a western localization and release in 2018 that's currently in the works. So yes, get hyped!

Man, what a shame. As soon a game is released the switch will get it most likely 1 and a half year later... If it goes on like this, it will be a WiiU2.

I mean, it's already almost outsold the Wii U. The Switch is getting a plethora of ports right now because it's the safest way to test the waters from third party publishers. DQB1 is probably because DQB2 is coming to Switch and they wanted to cash in from people who still haven't played the first. Really, you needn't worry about a Wii U 2, that future has already been averted.
