Downloaded PS3 backups annoying "Duplex PROUDLY PRESENTS" message and sound

I asked you that because some PKGs come with RAP and EDAT or you can download the latter two (or just one of them) separately.

Was EDAT meant for HAN and pre-Cobra CFW?

I don't know the answer to that. I used to use 4.88 HEN, then I moved to 4.88 Evilnat CFW.

If you see 2 eboots the eboot.bin is most likely modified and if a 2nd eboot is there should be labeled orignal.eboot.bin or accordingly. Remove custom eboot and rename og to eboot.bin. You can test this with duplex releases. I remember god of war ascension I had to do this.

There's also sites that have original eboot collections for this very reason.

I've done that but found out the other EBOOT.bin was the right one so I had to recreate the .iso and because of that waste more time.

Also, IIRC, there were some cases in which the game didn't work with the original EBOOT.bin but only with the altered one, which sucks.

It generally shows a minimum firmware to run, some are 3xx others 4xx. If at 4.80+ then no issues.

It goes into Exdata so I assume they're a license.

Edats are generally for c00. Those are trials that can be unlocked to the full game.

Linux is possible on older firmwares though I decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

Yes you need them. I just tested with evilknat 4.89.2.

edat will make trial full after restart or loading game then exiting.

Updating game will most likely break it - Unless you find new crack for new version etc.

Evilkant / Cobra sure does make all this way easier / faster.


After edat and exiting game trial is removed from title

problem is that it's indexed, just like the ps4 and vita, and ps5 as well. the indexer for the ps3 is located in dev_hdd0/mms/db iirc. I forgot the name of it, but it's something like metadata_harddrive with no extension. people have tried fiddling with it, but it forces a rebuild of the database if you screw up. it's not like the one for the ps4/5/vita where you can use sqlite browser. this seems to be something unique.

Afaik, it requires a dynaric for n64. I think the project is at least 9 years old.

updates won't break edat licenses if using a fix, but it will do that to raps, unless you find a fix of the update. that's why updates are shit, gigabytes worth of downloads as opposed to 16 bytes and never having to worry about finding a fix or needing to do so for every update.
