Will there be the possibility of downgrade unformatted? I explain this, because it sure is causing confusion.

There consoles (including mine) are a "rebel" when to downgrade. Why? In making the downgrade, is version 9.2 and that is to say that the console will reboot, black screen with the message "There was an error. Turn off the console ..." and the console does not start even taking the SD so the only option left for you is not left useless is updated using recovery to the latest version (currently 10.6 and if you do not have Cubic Ninja or Ocarina of Time 3D, forget the Homebrew Launcher and all that entails) . To address this, the only way is to format the console and work smoothly downgrade, but of course, lose saved games, the Mii, and long etcetera.

This has happened to me 5 or 6 times I tried doing downgrade from 10.3 to 9.2 and clear, when he left 10.4 and I got the error, I had to bid farewell to the xploit and others and now I have not because I'm almost convinced that I it will be the same and do not want to risk.

In another forum there have been more cases like this and good, some were released and others as reformatting still waiting to see if there is a solution, but I do not know if here has also been the case. xD

I guess there will be a "global" solution, since it will depend on the console and such, but ask not lose anything.

PS: Sorry this long text and sorry for my bad English. ^^ '

Ah yes, this also happen with my new 3ds, and... I formatted it and then the downgrade worked first time. I know, i have lost all my mii plaza puzzles, my activities, but cfw is just so cool, so i don't care!

Yes, if seeing so (to play all backups you want is a luxury) is not so bad but ... xD

It would be nice to make some kind of backup NAND and then restore it, but of course that is only possible in 9.2 and takes us to the beginning of the problem.

I downgraded my O3ds without needing to format it. I wonder if its a specific app that requires formatting before having to downgrade.

I know that in most cases can be done without formatting, but others, like I said between myself included, need to format the console before making the downgrade to not give us the error.

I just downgraded my friends console (O3DS, 10.5, around 3:11pm EST) and I didn't need to format. I think you would only need to format if you have a lot installed on your sysNAND.

Are we sure the errors aren't specific to the app used to downgrade? Or the method used to boot it? I remember I kept either being unable to open sysupdater at all, or have it lock after starting when launching it with ironhax, but launching it from menuhax worked fine, without having to format.

Do you think that's why? I had not thought, really. It is true that I have a million and a half things installed and does not use eons, but had never thought ... I will clean games and demos that do not use, just in case. xD

I do not think that is at the point of entry used. I tried both IronHax as from MenuHax, using all versions of SysUpdater and SafeSysUpdater that had come so far and all was the same.

When sysUpdater didn't work on my N3DS ever, I used SafeSysUpdater and it work just fine

I didn't read all of what you wrote so sorry if this doesn't help

Just make a backup of your saved game. I know, it takes time. But maybe is the only way for you. You can use save data manager to copy your save datas to SD card.

I also experience the same problem. Unfortunately there's data that you cannot back up, and I refuse to lose that data. Playing the waiting game for now.
if, no matter what version of sysupdater you use, does give you an error and ejecting the sd card does not work and you don't wish to lose whatever data is so important too you. You have too options at this point as I see it, get a hard mod and dump your nand and flash that to an emunand after you downgrade or just wait and hope one of the devs decides to release one of their private arm9 exploits, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

If time will not be, that's not important, but...

Same here. But I don't think will be released a "global" solution ...

I went through this as well, same error screen problem. After formatting, the downgrade worked fine. It seems impossible to avoid unless someone can figure out the cause at least.

Lol at the people saying "just backup your saves, durr". Guess what, HANS/Ninjhax doesn't support newer (9.6+?) eShop games, so no backing up there as they will just redscreen when you try to use SVDT!
