Well i downloaded one from dll-files and it worked.

But now i did all steps and my fucking nand is unmodified. I did as file compare in HxD and the "new" nand with "10.2 native firm" is the exact same as my original one.

Check the MD5SUM of each file.

This is awesome! confirmed success that this works, and a video to go with it. This makes me extremely happy, though sad as I turned my ds into a paperweight lifting a pad . I did get a new motherboard for it though. Hopefully a way to write directly to nand in software becomes available, as I'd love to see this method go obsolete

Can't you guys use xerpi's padxorer? It's what I use for xoring everything (even FAT16 partitions)

MD5's are exact same. I went to properties for each file and chose to run everything as admin.

That was the safesysupdater if that makes any difference, as for soldering tips, the smallest you can find. I'm pretty experienced and run my iron way hotter than any sane person would lol. But I'm quick and have done it enough times... Also a good iron is key, a shit 15 dollar one, is exactly that, shit.

It's to my understanding it would have to be a pretty major update? That what I've gathered reading various comments.

Kind of. NATIVE_FIRM can be updated to a new Major Version, a new Minor Version, and a new revision. We can only go between revisions, such as 10.5 to 10.2

I'm not sure. You could replace your NATIVE_FIRM with the correct one for sure, but I have no idea if it would actually boot since all the system titles are wrong. (Although my first guess would be that it wouldn't)

How this works is,

You hardmod the console, make a dump of your NAND.

Patch the NAND with the files found on front page.

Take your newly patched NAND and write it back to your console, you can now downgrade from 10.5 to 9.2

He could dump the NAND and then replace the o3DS NATIVE_FIRM with the n3DS NATIVE_FIRM, which would be a step in the right direction, but there's still all the o3DS system titles that would almost certainly not load on the n3DS
