yeah works for me would have been better if the B button patch worked on nunchuck style since the B button is placed weirdly when wii remote held side words.

the controls are royally screwed in this game. they have like 4 buttons that dont do a damn thing and they have mapped 3 different actions to "shake the stupid controller". i agree, this would be a great game if the guy in charge of the control layout didnt have his head up his ass. IMO, this has made this into an immediate "$5 bin" game.

So, let me see if what you just said makes sense...

The 4 buttons that don't do anything...they do in fact do something IN TWO-PLAYER MODE. They are mapped for features in Two-player, in both control schemes. Besides, DK doesn't have that many moves to begin with. Why does he need a function on every button?

The roll in this game is different from the previous DKC games. (Something nobody seems to have noticed yet.) The roll is on the shake so it can be a constant roll. They've designed levels around it for bowling through lines of baddies. A single button CAN'T do that properly, and even if it could you all would find a way to complain about it. I'm sure of it. (I know you could bowl through baddies in the original DKC games, but you couldn't roll for longer than a short distance without enemies to propel you. This game, you can roll with or without baddies in the way.)

The three shake functions are modified by directional input. How is this any different a concept from that of multiple moves in Smash Bros? If you need to blow or pound on something, you shouldn't be trying to do it on the fly. If you are, that's why you people are rolling when you don't want to.

And even if this did become a "$5 bin" game, hardly any of us paid for it anyway. Complaining about something you got for free? How pathetic can you get. That's basically saying, "You know, I didn't pay for this, but here's reasons that people who did should be mad about it because I am."

You guys are tearing this game apart based on your own lack of adaptability. (Hmm, is he repeating himself from a previous post? Yes, I do believe he is. Maybe there's a point there. Maybe...) YOU are the ones making the game non-enjoyable for YOU. Try to just take it in as a whole, instead of taking one part you aren't too fond of (which, IMO, nobody has had enough time to form a proper opinion about yet), and saying it ruins the game.

...so, no, nothing you said makes sense.

Even if the poster in question did obtain DKCR for nothing, I don't understand how that strips him of the right to complain about the controls, or the game; if there is some hidden entitlement to complain when one pays for a potentially flawed product as opposed to someone who did not, please explain why that is. Of course it's possible that he's making a mountain out of a molehill, but if others at least understand his point it's equally possible that he isn't.

To be honest more controller options in all games makes the game better. Some people like to use a classic controller approach while others like the motion. I would not have purchased Black Ops if it did not have CC support and I'd be willing to bet many others wouldn't have for that very same reason.

I don't think the guy on Twitter actually had CC working. It seemed like he was just complaining. Like "You know what would be awesome? DKCR with CC support!"

Would it be possible to use a combination of:
B For Pound Down-B for Blow B+Directional for Roll [Thomas83Lin]

and

Wiimote Button Remapping [Thomas83Lin]

To map Roll etc. to 1 and B to grab?

Can someone post the steps to do it? Where do we put the cheats? Do we have to burn this game to a disc and play it through GeckoOS ?
Thanks.
How to use ocarina:
1) Go to http://geckocodes.org.
2) Go to the page of your game (in this case: http://geckocodes.org/index.php?c=SF8E01)
3) On the top, click
gct.png

4) Click "Add Codes" (not "Add More Codes")
5) Select all codes you want to activate
6) When done, click "Download GCT"
7) Place the gct file on the location where your USB loader wants it (different for every loader).
8) Activate Ocarina in your USB loader.

Thank you!!!! It works!!!!!!
I entered only the two cheats for B button replacement, put the gct file in the "codes" folder outside of SD (root) and the whole txt file in the folder "txtcodes". Go to Wiiflow, settings of DKCR and then ocarina -> enabled. Start the game.

GREAT GAME. Now it's a amazing game indeed!! No one forces us to use motion moves. It's not a racing game to use wii remote like wheel, or a fps to use wii remote & nunchuck like keyboard and mouse. These have a purpose. When we play a platform game where you have to do these 3 moves, they should have multiple controls because not everyone wants waggles.

And it's not like playing Muramasa that you use "up" for jump and not a button. After a while, you get used to it eventually. That was not a problem. But with DKCR so many people have these complaints and I believe that they are right.

It took me a hott minute to get used to using the nunchuck, but I don't mind it all. I feel like if you want "classic" controls go play the originals.

i cant geht freakin cheat to work...i dont know what i am doing wrong

Maybe you can post how? It might help other people

put the .cgt anywhere on your sd card and the plain .txt anywhere and point to the locations you put them in the settings menu of usb loader gx. they were set wrong for me.

Maybe you can help me: what hook are you using for ocarina?

My hook type is VBI. Honestly, I don't even know what hook type is so I never mess with it when using cheats(which I really only use cheats when they offer a different control type like this one). VBI is just the one that's always set as default.

Have you tried other loaders? Somebody in this thread mentioned that it's working for USB GX.

If there's any other type of info I can give then just let me know.

im using usbloader cfg...i downloaded the cheats...tacked the cheats...saved it..game loads with ocarina but nothing changes...

When cfg is loading the game, you'll see some information being shown. Like the IOS it's using to load the game(usually 249), and then if you're using cheats. If it's loading cheats then you'll see it saying something like, ocarina...cheats found...blah, blah. Are you seeing cheat info when the cfg is loading the game?

If so, then I have no idea at all what's going on. Only thing I can suggest is trying a different loader.

Pretty weird if the cheat is working for some but not others.

Wiimote Button Remapping - What does this code do exactly?

I already have the B button code, so what does the above do?

as some may have noticed, that b-button is not perfect to reach when holding sideways, so i did some cheap modding and its perfectly playable now (and my wiimote is really dirty ive noticed lol)

maybe that helps the one or the other

Just use your Wii Wheel. That's working out for me so far.

I think it lets you remap all of your buttons to whatever you want.

i think the problem for me is that ocarina doent seem to save my settings properly...i tack the cheat, save the settings, and go back via B , enable ocarina, and launch game...dont know what im doing wrong

For the People that can't get the cheats to Work Try these alternative codes let me know if they work.
If the codes already work for yourself then no need to test
