I'm not sure if this is the right place for this type of post. Here goes nothing.

The game's latest update fixes many problems, but there's still room for improvement. For example, the music within "2-B Pinchin' Pirates" is not in sync with the fight. Another issue is Dixie Kong: while jumping from climbable walls or jumping in a minecart, Diddy Kong's voice can be heard instead of her's. Certain areas of the game are brighter or darker than normal, awkward animations, etc.

I understand Forever worked hard on this port, so I would like to modify the game in case a new update doesn't come. Here's the problem: DKCR and DKCTF's modding community doesn't exist, so there aren't guides on how to create 'quality of life' mods. I have experience with audio and music production, but everything else will require some help.

If anyone is willing to pitch into this passion project or can point me in the right direction for creating mods for Donkey Kong Country Returns HD (and Tropical Freeze), please let me know! I love these games, and I hope to make them more enjoyable.

I just want to be able to separate characters and play in the style of DKC on the SNES
I think that can be accomplished. Optantic created a code that allows players to choose whoever they want (P1 as Diddy, P2 as DK) for Tropical Freeze. Let's hope that's possible for DKCR!

I never understood why that isnt the thing from the begining.
thats the reason i never played newer games cause i hate the mechanic and never liked to play with donkey in original games unless i must. I alwayts prioritized dixie or diddy.
Its such a logical thing to let players choose how they wanna play, but when talking about nintendo, whats logical to us is not to them...never has been.
