With news being so sparse on the upcoming entry to the series, CD Projekt Red have today announced a new expansion for their 2015 hit The Witcher 3. Titled Songs of the Past, the expansion is touted as one last hurrah for Geralt before new protagonist Ciri steps up for the next title.

CD Projekt Red said:
Songs of the Past is a brand-new full-fledged expansion to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, one of the most acclaimed role-playing games of all time.

Created in partnership with Fool’s Theory, a team comprising veteran The Witcher 3 developers, players can once again take on the role of Geralt of Rivia and embark on a brand-new adventure before heading out on the Path as Ciri in the upcoming The Witcher 4.

Songs of the Past is set to release at some point next year for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles, and be of a comparable size to the game's previous major expansions. With the press release not mentioning the PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch, it is assumed these platforms will not receive this content.

Fair enough, but the attack on RAM itself needs to go down by the simple fact that enterprises need to stop bleeding so much money. https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA/comments/1thfd53/what_is_the_point_of_moe_models_beyond_being/

Demand might go to CPUs.

Unfortunately contracts have already been made and signed so they have to buy the Ram already ordered or risks
lawsuits. That's why even the most positive estimates say Ram prices won't go down for at least a year if not more.

I bought and played this at release on pc. I own all the expansions. I'm a little bit into the first exp and the same on the second one. Re-installed it and will be picking it up from my ten year old savegame. Modded it with what I wanted. This time I'm playing an offline version in case they decide to update the game and mess up my saves and/or mods. I'll be playing this again sometime later.

I think this game is already big enough. Is that hard to make The Witcher 4 already?
Different teams/studios working concurrently on different projects. And one of those studios is also remaking the 1st game, in UE. There's more projects in the pipe for CDPR, also a new IP. This expansion is sort of the answer to development taking eons, plus fishing for some easy positive W3 PR. I'm down for more Red Engine games. CDPR+UE won't be pretty. I mean, it will be when they get over the "game does not function" part half a decade later, and mostly because people upgrade their GPUs.

While I admit the first game has not aged well I got it for free with Gog Galaxy and I am not interested on buying a remake. I did buy the second game however.

The Third game? Eh gotta finish the first two first before I buy it otherwise it is wasting money.
