It has become increasingly apparent to me that the dsi line of systems have been discarded and forgotten as "the lesser 3ds" which makes me really sad... I remember when sudokuhax was the bomb, and everyone wanted dsi mode homebrew. Now I see so many dead threads from 2009-2010 talking about "how they are going to make a homebrew dsi shop. And how they can't wait for the next I-evo update. Or how they think they cracked the code on dsiware encryption.
And now with the shop gone it seems as if it has completely been left in the dust by EVERYONE.
Nobody seems to want to find new exploits because "the 3ds is a better dsi and the 3ds xl is a greater dsi xl ", which yes is partly true.
The dsi is outclassed in almost EVERY WAY by the 3ds,But it did have it's own charm that newer systems lack... I'm not shure if I'm crazy and a perfectionist but think about this buzzword,
PRESERVATION
something that didn't happen the way it should have.
PRESERVATION
something that won't be looked back upon until it is too late
PRESERVATION
something that deserves a second chance...
Think about all the games that weren't downloaded to systems,
From March 31 and onward you better hope that you got flipnote because it's gone now, same for every other game that you may not have.
Now you may be saying,
" aw jamez, you can just get those on the 3ds shop."
Hahaha...
No, the 3ds e shop is missing a TON of dsiware games.
Games that will probobly never be sold again.
"But what about emulation?" you ask
Yes it is true a large sum f dsiware has been dumped, not ALL of it.
Meaning that in 10 years, when you have the sudden itch to play (insert not dumped dsiware title here) you can't
And going back a bit, it isn't the same as playing on an og dsi.
And yes flashcards are a thing, but only ONE let's you play dsiware on an og dsi, and not very well too...
So I'm not saying we need to drop what were doing, and go dump our dsiware, but just to be careful about this kind of stuff, because once you take a step back and look at it all, we could have done things much better. The dsi never got it's respectful transition from forefront console to backhand system until finally being put to bed gracefully as a great machine.
But was tossed to the side in favor of "better hardware " so now the poor thing is looming, existing in a trance of console death doomed to be barely remembered as "the ds with a camera" which is all our fault, and we can't but admit to it.
Tell me below your experiences with the system(s) below.
