I'd can't think of any reason why I should use Win98 or something like that.

Wait, I do remember buying a music game about 7 years back called "Music Toys", which was really fun. It was a sort of prequel to Electroplankton. You had to use your mouse and hover over objects and colors that would then produce sounds and give a visual effect. It only worked on Windows98/98/ME.

People who use qemu often run Windows 98 in it as it is much faster than 2k or xp (qemu uses dynamic recompilation, not virtualization like vmware). Note that qemu is usually only used in this way by people who do not have an Intel compatible CPU, such as PPC Mac users.

Finally, Wine will often report itself as being Windows 98 by default (though that does not affect the APIs supported, only the version reported to apps).

I installed Vista, tweaked it up and ran some game benchies and even with my system it lost some preformance so I reinstalled XP.

Aren't Win9x/NT disks retro frisbees?

Given that XP is just NT 5.1 (and Vista is NT 6.0) I would say yes.

Windows 98 Was great software
XP was fucked
Vista is poo

Though i use Ubuntu Atm

xp is pretty great. vista is good but currently has too many bugs for my liking. 98 is okay but it is too damn ugly and annoying.

it still has a bunch of bugs. in about a year I will agree with you though.

p.s. actually macs are WAY better. problem is, most software is made for windows. it sucks.

It doesn't suck that most programs aren't released for Macs, it sucks that you bought a Mac while knowing this... I hate it when people complain about Macs/Linux having inferior software support, but it was their choice to use Macs/Linux. Don't get me wrong, I use Linux very often and Macs aren't bad either, but complaining about stuff like that just irritates me...

I'm on XP, vista is sucking up too much power so I probably won't use it until I have to too run some game in a near future..

To get to the point, I use XP, but have it look like 98 as much as i can because it's a lot faster, even on this machine and I like it better this way.

XP here, i still have a win98se machine for older 9x/dos games that don't run well on XP. But the Dang microSD card doen't even work without a driver in 98se and haven't even looked where to get it at!
