my switch is gathering dust, I still use my 3ds 80% of the time for all my gaming needs, (the other 20% is spent on playing on the gamecube bc I recently bought some good games for it)

No, I played it for a year (launch day model) and was disappointed by it.
I booted it up and played some Mario party with me brother but other then that, I barely ever touch it.

Proud to be Portuguese but I am in USA.
No, I never had GBA, DS, and 3DS. And dont want to. I am not into on the go, thought. I prefer consoles at home. I have PS3, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Yes, no Nintendo Switch for go.. Home only. :)

Ever since I fixed it I started learning about hacking the games and apps. It's really fun

not even a little, it has some great games that i would still play if there was a way to hook it up to the tv and play with a real controller but it's awkward shape and crappy buttons and no new game releases i can go without.

I just got a New 3DS XL a few months ago despite me collecting games for the console for a few years. Yup, I'm set for quite a while. Looking forward to the Luigi's Mansion remake.

My 2DS' screen cracked in October so I haven't played 3DS since. I do plan on getting back on it, however. Hopefully in May when my birthday hits. :)
I plan on playing 3DS until I get max VR in MK7 and time trial all the CTGP-7 tracks, and other tracks of course. Another goal on my 3DS bucket list is buying a sequel to a particular game about ninja grills, and 100%ing it.
Most important on my 3DS bucket list is getting my ghost data in MK7 back, as well as old ninja grill game save data back. I dumped contents of those saves using SVDT back in summer 2016, but unfortunately I've had 0 luck getting SVDT to work on Luma. Any help would be great. Maybe when I get my MK7 ghost data back I'll make a Player's Page account... time will tell, of course. And that animu grill game? I plan on 100%ing it once I get my save back, using SVDT. Of course, like my MK7 ghost data, I can't because I have had 0 luck getting SVDT to work on Luma. Again, any help would be appreciated. Sorry for repeating myself.

If you have the raw save data files on your sd card you can try installing any of the other save managers like "Checkpoint" to inject your save data. ( you can get it here https://gbatemp.net/threads/checkpoint-a-simple-and-fast-save-manager.485591/ ) So try this:
    1. Locate your game saves
    2. Put them on your PC
    3. Install checkpoint cia on your 3ds
    4. dump the current save data of your game onto your sd card
5 put your sd card back into your pc and locate these new save files dumps in your sd card
6.drag and drop your old saves that you wanted onto this folder, over writing all the files you dumped with checkpoint
    7. put your sd card back in your 3ds and start up checkpoint and restore your old files onto your game
    Hopefully this helps?

One thing that the 3DS does better than the Switch is its form factor and portability.

The 3DS consoles are simply more portable than the Switch. I wouldn't mind taking my 3DS out with me on the go, but with the Switch I'd have to think twice. Sure the Switch is portable, but it is kind of big.

I know Nintendo intends to replace the 3DS line with the Switch eventually, but until they make it smaller, it won't be a true successor/replacement to the 3DS. I have a feeling Nintendo will make a Switch Mini sooner than later.

Thing is, SVDT allowed you to dump your save file as multiple files.
For MK7: this is what it looked like:
    MK7 Save as multiple files

Does Checkpoint allow you to view your saves as folders/files, and insert files into your current save? That's what SVDT did, and that's how I dumped my MK7 ghost data, and ninja grill game data. They aren't in .sav (or whatever Checkpoint uses).

I'd suggest to dumping any sort of save data you have currently on your 3ds with checkpoint and see what you get (try to start up you mk7 and maybe create one ghost data for any track and maybe win a cup or something, then dump), once you have that data backed up you can compare it to what you backed up in the past, if they're the same file structure for both saves I think it'd be safe to assume that you can inject all of those save data files of your old save into your current mk7 without a problem

Also yes you can view your saves as files in checkpoint, you can even name them whatever you want before creating them as well as being able to create multiple backup saves

No good games equals no 3DS play.

I have a lot of abandoned games i've lost interest with like SMT Soul hackers, Etrian Odyssey Mystery Dungeon, and Fantasy Life. Miitopia was a shitshow and was only interesting up to the first final boss but even then it became tedious. No idea why Strange Journey was delayed, but would have been playing that if it wasn't delayed for some inexplicable reason.

I guess I play it for word searches.

Depends on your model. It is difficult to fit my XL anywhere but my purse. If I am going to use a purse anyway, then the Switch is equally as portable since it is very small. An original new 3DS could perhaps fit in a backpocket but i'm not putting my hundred-dollar device into such an insecure spot.

I've barely used my 3DS since I got the Switch. I still have a couple games left on it to finish though, like AA: Spirit of Justice, and Dai Gyakuten Saiban once the translation patch is done. And a bunch of games I'll probably never finish.
