there plenty of ds-xtreme haters i dont know why and thier support team is good. all i have seen is the ds-xtreme getting bashed

the only reason I think that the DS-X is only getting BASHED because
1)They have the MOST COMPATIBILITY RATING and 9.5 rateing
2)The people that say DONT BUT THIS - DONT BUY THAT ARE the ones that don't usally most of the time have the FLASH CART
3)They just want to be reconized for there Idiotsness

Actually I think the DS-X is cool. The only reason I'm bashing them is because of the RIDICULOUS price tag!!!!

Well price is pretty much a deciding factor especially when you can get a competitor flashcart for cheaper and more memory plus a little more features like IGR and ability to use cheats

point is ds-x costs way more than m3 simply or r4... m3 and r4 can do everything ds-x can do plus some.

Fire up some single-card download play with NSMB or MKDS on your R4/M3 and get back to me. Oh wait, download play with those games (and several others) don't work on the R4/M3.

QUOTE(SUGARSPLIFF @ Jan 31 2007, 07:36 PM)its a question of if your willing to spend more than double what an m3/r4 costs for flashing lights.

The R4 with a 1GB card costs $40 less than the DS-X. That's not a whole lot of money, especially if download play support is important.

Hell, a Honda Civic will get you around town just as well as a BMW, right?

You have a point on download play but there's only 39 games that supports it out of a few hundred..

And you said it yourself, there is download play support on other Slot-1 devices and are updated far regularly than the DS-X.. You really think they won't work it out?

lol... oh we are all so dumb , look its only $40.00 (and the rest) cheaper, but please conviently forget its twice the size and has better support and compatability from day 1, oh and as an added bonus it has not got any disco lights to embarass you

quote of 'time'... "it got 9.5/10 from gbatemp, it's got to be good!!!"

I happen to play many download play games, therefore it's important to me. As of now, the DS-X has the best download play support of all Slot 1 cards.

Sure, they'll probably work it out. Meanwhile, I've had download play support with my DS-X for two months.

What's with all the DS-X hatred anyway? I just don't get it.

I didn't call anyone dumb. I just don't understand people's motivation for posting inaccurate information.

I also did not forget that 1GB is twice the size of 512MB. For me, (and many others) 512MB is plenty of room. I also bought the DS-X when it was the only Slot 1 solution of its kind. There was no such thing as an R4/M3. That said, would I still buy the DS-X today? Yes, because it has the best download play support available. As for the "disco lights," it sounds like you're unaware they can be turned off.

To continue my car analogy, I can buy a GM car that is larger, has a bigger engine, is less expensive, costs less to maintain and repair, and has more service locations than a BMW. However, that BMW will have more power output using a smaller engine and will offer a greatly improved driving experience over the GM car. Even at double the price, I'll still pick the BMW. Different strokes for different folks.

$40???? I bought my R4 on bamboogaming for $33, and a good 1GB microSD costs $12-$16 (though you could get one for $9 last week with rebate). I've only seen the ds-x for $125, maybe it's cheaper somehwere? Anyway, that's over a $75 difference!!! (w/o tax and s/h) Anyway, if you play a lot of mutliplayer, I agree it's still the way to go.

My price comparisons came from modchipstore.com, a store I trust and have done business with in the past. Sure, I can probably find some cheaper cards from flybynight.com or some such store, but I don't want to. I still maintain that $40 (or even $75) is not a whole lot of money. That's the price of a game or three.

i gave my ds-x to my mom since i have no use for it; i have an r4. if she uses it in alarm mode, the batteries die prematurely because, i think, of the uber bright LED will not turn off. does anyone who has 1.1.0 know how to make the LED turn off while the NDSL is in alarm mode?

oh, and the ds-x received the infamous 9.5 during the time it was actually the only slot-1 on the market. i can assure you that if it were re-reviewed with the current competition taken into account, it wouldn't get that high a score; just as an xtreme i dunno... apple IIe might have gotten a 9.5 oh so many years ago, but now...

anyways, thanks in advance!
