If I recall correctly, they were supposed to use the Asian release as a rough translation, which is not particularly uncommon. And having seen some videos of the Asian release before the western version came out, there are some differences, but not nearly enough. Particularly glaring is Yui telling you and Asuna "good luck with penetration".

I laughed way harder than I probably should have with that. I'm not familiar with the series, so i hope one of them is a girl.

Things like that can kill a series though, Mega Man X6 was horrendous with the translations and all. Almost killed the series it tried to continue.

Wow

Keep up the good work guys. I'm siked for patches of Digimon World Re:Digitize, Digimon Story: Lost Evolution, and for the completion of the patch for Digimon Adventure. Digimon is what has been lacking from my life atm lol. Can't thank the patching squads enough for all they've done and continue to do.

Just came in to check if the translation is finished. And I got my head down this time
But I'm still waiting for it. You guys are working hard, I know. Keep it up. And thanks for doing this for us. :grog:
Just want to ask you one thing, can you tell me the approximate release date please?

It should be relatively soon, but we're not planning on giving an exact date.

So... how's the project doing? :ha:
Pretty good, it turned out that to make the Colloseum text translatable in a not completely unreasonable amount of time we had to code a new tool, which Romsstar is working on now. Long story short, there's over 100 files for that section, and for no apparent reason, sometimes a single conversation will be spread over several files, and any given file can contain parts of several conversations. The new program required Romsstar to reverse engineer some parts of the .pack files no one previously understood, and figure out how the files say which person is talking. They'll still be slow, since we'll have to track down where each person's lines are located, but they'll be much easier and faster to accurately translate now.

They can never make things simple for you guys huh? conversation strings through multiple files and no clear indication of the speaker? Gotta love coding sometimes huh?

You guys are awesome though for putting in all this hard work.

Wow I've missed a lot these past few days XD OK better start answering some questions, my aim at the dub/original name usage in a game was that you cannot throw the 2 in the same spot and say that's how its meant to be, this is why the team is making 2 translation versions, 1 for people like myself that prefer the dub aka true versions and one for the translated aka original leaning versions, once again i will use the example of Gallantmon (Dub) and Dukemon (translated) to me Gallantmon sounds better and suits the digimon better thusly I will be taking the dub version of the translation, this is now the end of this discussion before it turns into an avalanche, oh and to answer on the Kumamon/Bearmon scenario, Kumamon was the original name and was later on changed to Bearmon since the word Kum is usually censored, that and Bearmon is more english I guess.

On the Kumamon thing, you're just wrong. Bearmon was the Japanese name, it was changed to Kumamon for the dub. And then Chakmon was also called Kumamon in the dub for no particular reason.

...I am just gonna bite my tongue on Dartz's comment...

Anyways, anyone else been following the info on Cyber Sleuth?

I'm also fairly positive you guys will be the only translation of this and decode, which I am totally fine with

I haven't kept up too much, but it looks like it might actually be a sequel to Re: Digitize and Decode. One of the human characters, Mirei, is in the screenshots they released. Also, Angewomon and LadyDevimon have a Jogress now.

scratch that sequel part. Its just another entry in the digimon story series that was previously on the DS. Mirei and Rina showing up in the game is just a cameo thingy. Sayo, protagonist of Digimon Story Moonlight (Digimon World Dusk), is a playable helper in the DLC too.
Cyber Sleuth has no Digital world like all the other games. Digimon are viruses that were forcefully hacked into the EDEN world, which all people can enter at will.
The game does look promising and many people, me included, expect it to be the best Digimon game ever made. However I hope we'll get a Re: Digitize 2 on Vita after Cyber Sleuth.

Yeah, it's just another game in the Story series and looks amazing. Im hoping we at least get that localized. I know Operation Decode has been quite active and Bamco is getting messages daily about Cyber Sleuth. Also, I'm considering getting Decode for the 3ds since there's an exploit to trick NA systems to play games from any region at the moment. I'd obviously get a gateway to play the patch whenever it's ready but I don't know if i should get the game now before it gets more expensive.

opinions?

Decode is probably going to keep going down in price, on Amazon they can be imported used for about 50 USD, which seems a little high for a two year old, used game. Ebay has it used for fourty, which sounds about right. It might spike a bit after we release our patch, but I wouldn't expect that to last too long.

For some reason I am leaning towards new copies. I dont know why but I am. Weird right?

Edit: on an update decided to bite the bullet and get the game.
