Riivolution and Devolution are two very different things. Devolution allows you to play GameCube games that you physically have the discs for in Wii mode from an SD card or a USB drive. This allows various things like playing playing with a Classic Controller, Pro Controller, or a PS3 controller (you can use a GameCube controller as well if your Wii has GC ports). Other benefits are support for using wifi for online play in Phantasy Star Online, a widescreen hack intended for games that don't support widescreen natively, an emulated memory card save option (you can use a physical GC memory card as well), and at times even better performance in some games that had framerate problems (Midway Arcade Treasures 3 comes to mind).

With games running in Wii mode, the extra controller support, and memory card emulation, Devolution therefore allows playing GameCube games on both the Family Wii and the Wii U. A family Wii can read GC discs with a disc expander while a Wii U will require you to have access to a physical Wii since a Wii U cannot read GC discs.

You can find more info on Devolution in the readme.txt that's in the download link in the first post located in apps\gc_devo. You can also find various info here:

Can someone help me out with Wifi logging? I can't seem to get any output.

My Wii is connected to the internet, via Wifi, tested and working, Homebrew channel connects.
Computer's running OS X Mavericks, connected to same network via wifi, "nc -l -p 64444 -u -v" nc --version is 0.7.1, I get no output at all.

Any advice?

I have a question... I've gotten devolution to work beautifully on my Wii U, except for one game, and that is Twilight Princess. I ripped it through cleanrip, as I did with all my other GC games, but when I try to verify it through devolution, it just goes back to the homebrew channel. The disc isn't very scratched so I'm not sure what's wrong. Any ideas as to what I can do to make this work?

Sure play twilight princess on the Wii side :P lol sorry I couldn't help myself.
Actually he totally could. All he would need is this Twilight Princess GC-Wii save converter:

And the following de-mirror gecko code:

-Any game dialogs that tell you to move the control stick right or left (e.g. in shops) are not changed to match the mirrored controls

After buying a few controllers off Amazon, I had some thoughts about the Analog shoulder button issue and classic controllers. Has anyone tried to mod a classic controller pro to somehow use the original's analog buttons?

Then, there's the Thrustmaster gamecube controller, which while not having physically sliding analog shoulder buttons, are instead pressure sensitive. Would it be possible to use these on a ccp?

What's the difference between the two, meaning what does devo do about it, and why does it do anything?

Devolution maps the shoulder buttons to ZL and ZR on the CCpro but uses L and R on the normal CC.

Fun fact - while Devolution is running, if you start with a normal CC and swap to a CCpro, Devolution will automatically switch the GC shoulder buttons from L & R to ZL & ZR. However, if you swap from a CCpro to a normal CC Devolution, will still have the GC L & R mapped to ZL & ZR, even on the normal CC; this is arguably better for some games like Nintendo Puzzle Collection. However, i
