I believe No$GBA is still better.

I ran 2 games Ultimate Mortal Kombat and Mario Kart DS- both of which run fine on No$.
Ultimate Mortal Kombat doesn't even load the character selection screen, it just remains black.
Mario Kart DS can get really laggy at times, for no specific reasons.

I could be wrong, but this is what I can conclude right now. xD

Well, the graphics in this DS Emu are way better now.

I mean, play Zelda PH in No$GBA and in DeSmuME (both newest).
You will see that text boxes and graphics are a way better in DeSmuME.

Just maybe a little bit slower. But also has a screen recorder built in.

I really like how you can resize the screens, make stuff smoother etc.

i think this could help play games tht otherwise are not very visible on no$ like FF4 unreadable texts at times...
DeSmuME has always had better graphics than no$ but compatibility and speed has been greater on the no$
who is working on the latest versions? is it still shash or is it others like normatt

thought i share some examples
1.) Nostalgia - same as above just less text probs

2.) 100 Classic Games (doesnt work at all on no$)

3.) FF4 - note the text and slower slightly on DeS

Dont mind the colors its just tht i have not set the gba mode to VGA for no$

Wonderful improvements ... just needs more speed
also i didnt see too much of a difference in sound; both being choppy at times
