Sorry about the serious slow down guys. I've been busy with Finals, work, and another project.
I'm going to try and compile all the Translation we have up to this point and MAYBE make a patch. I don't know. But I do want to get the translated files out there so others can pick it up should I have to stop for a time.

Okay. Don't worry about it too much. Go study for your finals :) There's no rush. Here's the finished LBXItemExplain (message.pac).

EDIT: Added LBXSubExplain (message.pac). Can't write more in case my net drops again.

Sorry bout the delay. I should have some stuff posted either later today or early tomorrow. Finished up with finals and then had to work but I'm off for the next few days.

If you've been following the translation scene for a long time then you would know that quick and easy translations are a rarity. A three year wait was not uncommon. Now I'm not saying that this work is going to take that long, at least I hope not, but I am saying that no activity does not mean no progress and that it won't go as quickly as you would hope. We have real lives too you know.

I was translating the skill names when I found this: ハルベルトガード (Halbert Guard)
After searching it on a online dictionary, I found out that it's another way to write Halberd.
So, the thing is... should I translate it to Halbert or Halberd?

1st post updated with proper info. Lemme know if I missed something.
Testing out the last few weeks worth of files now.
EDIT: Also the 06_GScene Custom file is broken and causes the game to crash upon load.

To add to the conversation; the game texts have some typos in them. For example I've seen instances where Ortega is spell Ordega and Guarder spelled Garter, in Katakana of course. So the halberd-halbert thing might have been a typo. Makes me wonder if there aren't any more typos. Not intentional misspellings like Aegis and Aiges but an unintentional misspell.

Oh and I'll take a look at kalker's skill name attachment next week. Check for errata and all that.

Halbert is the less commonly used though, if that's the case, because I've only heard of Halberd. Good catch by the way. I didn't know that about the Halberd/Halbert thing. I also found out that Halberds are also sometimes called a Swiss Voulge. Learn something new every day :)

EDIT: So I was checking the skill_name file and I saw this <乱:みだ>れ<撃:う>ち. Now I previously translated it as "Random Shots" or "Random attack". While this is true, I just thought of something better. How about 'Spray and Pray'? If <乱:みだ>れ<撃:う>ち is a machine gun skill then 'Spray and pray' would work much better than "random shots/attacks'. 'Spray-n-pray' would do as well.

Either one works IMO. Spray-n-pray might not be a bad idea.
It really comes down to which of the two fits nicely. But go with whatever you want for now and we'll fix it later if it doesn't fit.

That sounds awesome. I'm going to write it as Spray n' Pray cause it looks cool. Thanks. With that skill name from message.pac is done, only waiting on input for that one. Don't forget to update the menumessage.pac's Random attack/shots as Spray n' Pray for consistency's sake. :)

EDIT: Also, looking at the front page for something new to work on, Guidemessage from message.pac is already done so if you could mark that as done that would be great. I'm starting LBXArmExplain from Message.pac next. Heads up.

Main post updated. I'm gonna pour a lot of time into working on this tomorrow. I got a free day so I'mma do as much as I can.

It seems that LBXArmExplain is already done, when I went to start working on it, so you can cross that off the list. As such, I'm moving on to LBXCPUExplain from message.pac. Also crash, nice to hear that you're free tomorrow and that you're going to work on Danball. Not gonna spend it decompressing from your exams and stuff? :)
