You can get the files that I translated from the previous page, IIRC. It's an attachment to my post. As a matter of fact, all of my uploads are as attachments to my posts so you can just check my posts if you want to see everything that I've uploaded.

EDIT:@kalker

I gave it a look and though you did well to recognise the difference between tsu and shi, you still haven't looked up the convention regarding katakana small letters. For example, you had マッドドッグ as Matsudodotsugu and then give Mad Dog in brackets. While you figured out that it's Mad Dog, you still wrote Matsudodotsugu to sound it out which shows that you haven't quite grasped it yet.

Another example is オーディーン where you wrote it as Odein to sound it out and figured out that it means Odin. Now, normally if it's a big ィ then Oodeiin (double letters to signify that you elongate the sound) would be right but because it's a small ィ then the 'De' becomes 'Di' so it's sounded out as "Oodiin" which is Odin.

Also, a tip. When they use Katakana for foreign words, sometimes it's good to use google (not google translate) if you don't know what it refers to. For Danball, you can use the wiki to reference the names, since that was what you were doing.

Don't worry though. You're still learning so it's okay. I'll give the file that you uploaded a go through and fix any mistakes and translate the Kanji :) You can download it an compare when I upload it :)

EDIT2:

@Kalker - Next time, when you translate a file, you don't have to leave the original text in. Just replace it. As long as you tell us where the file is from, for example the one you did was LBXArmName from message.pac, we can use the original text file as comparison. As it is, I had to go around deleting the original text for those that you translated correctly and it's a time consuming :) Other than that keep it up.

Oh an here's the corrected LBXARMNAME.

I was translating the "LBX Card Name" when I found this: アサシンカスタム, I was wondering if I should translate it to "Assassin Custom" or "Custom Assassin"?

I was checking the list, and in the MenuMessage.pac there's a "LBX Arm Name" with the "Done" tag, is it the same as the Message.PAC one?

No. The one in the MenuMessage.pac has 70 more entries. There are commonalities though. 126 to be exact :)

EDIT: Here's the completed LBXARMEXPLAIN_JP.BTX. I'm going to start on another file either tomorrow or Monday, depending on my plans. Not sure which file yet. I haven't made up my mind. I'll post here which file when I start.

@Kalker: Good job mostly. I went through your file and translated all of the ones with Kanji and fixed some of the errors that you made.

One mistake that you did was you had マスターコマンド as Master Commando. It should be Master Command. Master Commando would be マスターコマンドー. See the difference? The ー at the end signifies that you elongate the vowel at the end. When you pronounce 'Commando', the 'o' at the end is an elongated sound.

Another mistake was translating the names. What do I mean by that? Well you had ビャッコ(Byakko) as White Fox. While it does mean that in a sense, in this case you leave it as Byakko. It's a proper name. You don't translate proper names because if you do then you can't distinguish between a name an a phrase. For example, my surname is Cadena. That means chain(s) in spanish IIRC. Do you call me Mr Chain(s)? Of course not. The same thing here. Look up Byakko in wikipedia :)

Another one was you had クノイチアキバカスタム as Akiba Kunoichi Custom. Again, since it's a name you keep the structure even as you translate it into english words. So クノイチアキバカスタム should be Kunoichi Akiba Custom.

Anyway, other than those 2 things, you did well. :) Attached to this post is the corrected LBXCardName.

Don't stress about it too much though. You're still learning. Mistakes are to be expected because that's how you learn :) I made a lot of mistakes when I started learning Japanese. Heck I still make some mistakes now and again. Especially regarding Kanji :) That's why I have a large Kanji dictionary by on my desk for handy reference along with my English Dictionary and Thesaurus and Japanese dictionary :)

Translated "LBX Core Name" from the "00_Data Message.PAC" file.

EDIT: Also finished "LBX Head Name" from the "00_Data Message.PAC" file.

EDIT II: Ended up finishing "LBX Leg Name" from the "00_Data Message.PAC" file. They were pretty much the same thing...

I concur. No problems with the files other than the Kanji names which I translated and some typos. Nothing major :) All three files are exactly the same so it's no problem to cut and paste the same translation onto all three files, which I did. Here's the completed files.

Excellent progress friends. I'll add these to the patch tomorrow. Currently quite busy with a convention, work, and school but I'll be sure to add them in ASAP.

Don't worry and just take you time :) Just to remind you, I give Kalker's files a look through to check for errors and translate the kanji every time he uploads a file so get the ones that I've checked and uploaded.

Yeah, but I ended up doing it like I always do, better safe than sorry. :P

True. Easier for me though. I can recognise characters almost immediately and scrolling side by side, I can quickly check if they're the same or not. I know that there are programs that do the same thing but I've yet to find one so manual is the way to go for me :p

Here's the "LBX Mortor Name" (I didn't misspelled it, I got it like that from the game) from " the "00_Data Message.PAC" file, I've translated all of it since there was no Kanji, but please check it anyways.

Good job Kalker :) Just a few mistakes. トルク as tokuro which actually should be sounded out as Toruku which is Torque, シャフト as shield which actually should be sounded out as Shafuto which is Shaft. ミニマム as Minimal when it's just Minimamu(Minimum) :) No 'ru' at the end to make it minimaru(minimal).
Other than that, good job.

EDIT: Silly me, I forgot to attach the corrected file. Here it is.

I'm going to translate the "LBX Weapon Name" from the Message.pac, it's a huge ass file, so I won't post anything here for a while...

Heh, at least it's 300 entries shorter than MenuMessage.pac's LBXWeaponName :) I didn't translate MenuMessage.pac's LBXWeaponName, Crashman did, but I still shudder when I think back at translating those 771 weapon descriptions.
