Hey guys, this has probably been asked before, and i searched but couldn't find anything.

I have got GBA games running using them both with the 1.4 firmware for the cyclods without using exploader program, but it never saves. Is there a way to make it save without flashing the game onto the 3in1 card permanently?
I cant find any options to save or anything like that, and because its on the (forget what type of ram) when i turn it off, of course, the save is gone.

So yeah, main thing being, can i make it so it can save onto the SD card?

NOR's not really permanent, it's semi-permanent.
You can put another game on the NOR when you want to switch.
So switch from PSRAM to NOR today!

Update to newest firmware (beta or regular is fine)
Using the tool, flash to NOR. Play the game, then flash other games to the NOR when you want to switch.
Or, enable BETA GBA Support in the CycloDS menu (under options), navigate to the folder, and play the game. When you restart CycloDS, it will back up your save onto your SD card. From there, you can load the game again, and resume your save file, or load another game.

did you make
the
GBA_SAVE folder on the ROOT of your card
GBA_SIGN folder on the ROOT of your card

I am using th 3-in-1 and CycloDS and PSRAM
may games SAVE fine

GBAexploader 0.57 and CycloDS use the SAME folder system so you can use both

After finishing playing, did you run the exploader again, and press A for one of the save slots - and when you started to play did you try to LOAD the same save file..?

Just asking, sicne this is way how exploader works.

Gah, NOR writing takes ages to do. Plus it's ONLY necessary for ROMs that are 32 MB in size. Any other game can be accessed via ExpLoader's file browser.

About your saving issue, there are some games that need to be SRAM patched in order to save, or else the save files will get deleted. This only affects games with larger save files, like Pokemon FR/LG. In order to SRAM patch these, search for the GBATA program, and there should be a SRAM patcher within the program.

GBATA doesn't patch 1024Kbit FLASH games, like Pokemon.
To patch these, you have to use the EZ4 client or an IPS patch (in some releases).

I got the old 3 in 1. battery's dead and gonna change a new one. so the old one and the new one works perfectly with the cyclo? if there's no difference i might just change a new battery for my old one.

The newer EZ 3in1 carts use different chips, however if you have the latest firmware you'll be okay.
