i would like to install Custom IOSX Rev21 using the network installation.

Is this how I would do it:
- Copy Custom IOSX Rev21 to apps folder of SD Card
- Run the installer.
- Select the IOS version to use as base (default option recommended).
- Select "Network Installation".

That's all i need to do? and how do i check if it's rev21? Thanks

is there a USB Loaded that supports Rev21 Base 58 for loading games?
I'm not sure if I understand the question correctly, but...why not? Pretty much all USB loaders support "cIOS249", so if you install rev21 base IOS 58 in that slot...doesn't the game load?

(or use another slot and tell your loader to use that slot instead)

@phillyguy: the installer will ask you first to which slot you want to install the cIOS, but other than that...those are the steps.

I don't know by heart, but I'm pretty sure the installer has something like "REVISION 21" on the GUI, so it's kinda hard to miss.
You may want to take note to which slot you've installed what base, because that may be important when loading certain games.

yeah, you can install 58 under 249, but at least on wiiflow games won't load with that base. waninkoko said (well someone said he said) a bit of code needs to change in the loaders to load games with ios58.

i asked this on a another thread but no one seems to be looking. is there a USB Loaded that supports Rev21 Base 58 for loading games? someone claims that waninkoko fixed the hard drive lag in that cios.

Waninkoko himself said hdd lag was fixed if you use base 58 with rev 21.
Also USB loader devs. are already busy implementing the possibility to start their USB loader with Base 58 (because that is what i think nando ment), but this apparently needs a lot of recoding.
But even if USB loaders can run with 58, it's still no guarantee that all games run with this base too.

rev21 Base 58 works with configurable usb loader. It must be installed as 249 (ie, you cant install as 248 and boot game from diff ios)
The controller lag is gone.

However has same compatibility issues with ashes cricket and my guess MHT, usb instr. aswell.
It is also alot slower than b57 and b56. (even in the loader the covers take time to buffer)

For people with controller lag issues
I would still recommend r19 b57 for majority of games and rev4 37 + 38 or rev 5.1 b37 for others.

This was with my setup so if someone else wants to test it out and confirm my findings that would be appreciated

I can confirm those findings. My HDD suffers the lag (controller disconnect) problem with cIOSx20/21 but works fine with cIOSx19.
Configurable USB Loader does work (without lag) with rev21 Base 58 in slot 249 (using the normal version) but compatibility is worse (CODBO, MHT, Microphone games) than cIOSx19 base 57 and it is indeed slower.
I will continue to use cIOS249[57]v19 and cIOS250[37]v19 as I gain nothing by using cIOS249[58]v21. All Hermes cIOS work fine, so that is another option.

so i'm pretty confused

now i have 249[58]v21 (in testing, up to now seems no problem..)

before i used 249[57]v20b without problem;)

i think to try
249[57]v21
250[38]v21

or you suggest to add only:
250[57]v21
that result in:
249[58]v21
250[57]v21

Well, my impression is usb2.0 support "stolen" from ios58 is a bit slower but more reliable.
Also I believe usb support in rev21 is the same for all bases because some hd not working properly with previous revs now works with every base.
also i have the same impression

249[57]v20b is a little bit faster

I can tell u that the rev21 EHCI module included in all the non-base 58 cIOSs is not included in the base58 cIOS, instead it has another of wanin's custom modules, I think it's called "USBS". I thought this was rather odd, but I guess that's what it took for wanin to build a cIOS using IOS58 as a base (as some of u may remember, wanin tried making a base 58 cIOS in rev20 but couldn't figure it out at that time).

Anyways, my point is that cIOS rev21 with base 58 is really different than any other rev21 cIOS.

so do you think that 21 with base 58 is less performant/maybe bugged?? or we have to be patient and wait new releases of loaders?

I haven't extensively tested cIOS with base 58, I just analyzed it so ModMii can recreate it in wad form.

As far as I'm concerned rev20 and rev21 with base 56 work perfectly for everything except COD:BO (triiforce doesn't work on rev20 either)

The only reason I would deviate away from these cIOSs is if they are having difficulties reading my hard drive, a different cIOS may have different compatability with different hard drives.

He couldn't figure it out until someone else did the reverse-engineering work required and added it to libogc, allowing him to do his regular copy-paste job. That's what the code in his new USB module is (for which he hasn't released source code, despite promising he would via twitter).

so would be a good choice this one?

249[56]v20/21
250[57]v21
