Please forgive the NOOBness of this question but when it mentions faster read times is this only for those launching via USB HD or does it affect those launching from disc using a backup launcher?

Perhaps a better question would be is the disc read speed tied to the Backup Launcher or does the custom ISO38 factor in at all?

People, calm down. The loaders need an additional line of code because the error 002 handling has changed as stated in the changelog. Wait for new revs on your loaders.

USB Loaders need to update their code to avoid this with rev13. The fix is out there already, so just wait until the next revision. Should be soon. Go back to rev12 in the meantime.

For those talking about Rock Band instruments, there is a way to use them with a USB loader. Download Hermes' cIOS (http://mods.elotrolado.net/~hermes/wii/uloader_v1.8.rar - all you need is the cios_installer folder in the apps folder) (offline installer here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=157...;#entry2004652) and install it as IOS 233 as a merge of IOS 36 and 37. Then use Configurable USB Loader (http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=147638) to load the game, choosing to load it with IOS 223-mload in the options.

However, Rock Band 2 DLC does not seem to work properly for me. It doesn't transfer the songs back to the SD card when you're done playing them. I could play one or two songs but that was it - all the others would fail after that. I had to redownload all my DLC to get it working again even when playing from the retail disc. If it does work properly for anyone please let me know.

Got the same drive (from Tesco I presume). Not sure if you are having same issue as me.

Rev10 and Rev11 intermittent connection with USBLoader 1.5 and CoverFloader. Sometimes the drive is recognised and sometimes not.

I have a Maxtor One Touch 60GB which is recognised each and every time.

Any suggestions on what the problem could be.

Wii is on 3.2E (Downgraded from 3.4E).

Cheers

I used Waninkoko's USB Loader 1.5 for a while. It would find my LaCie 750gig about 50% of the time. I just started using Ultimate USB Loader 7.4 this week and it has never failed to detect my drive. I recommend it to anyone.

yeh from tesco's GOOD DEAL ON IT...!!!

Revison 11 works the best.... usb loader gx... i use.. Detects the drive the majority of the time...

Works best turning Wii on from being off (not in standby)

I have preloader 0.29 firmware 4.0e installed, I enabled the function ingnore stanby setting in the settings menu.. (allows you to have wiiconnect on, but not turn off wii to standby the majority of the time)

also take it apart and connect to computer and use hd parm to adjust spindown setting to 0

I installed CIOS 38 Rev 13 (and later the 13b release too)... I then tried wiigator's backup launcher and it worked -- YAY! We're back to one IOS for both USB and CD Backup loaders -- but then when I load any of my rockbands through wiigator's backup launcher it seems to have lost support for the USB guitar and equipment... OK... We know this, but when I rolled back to the CIOS36 Rev 7 wad that did work with the rockband equipment when using Wiigator's launcher, the Equipment still fails to work.

I even tried to re-install CIOS36 Rev 10, then the CIOS36 Rev 7 wad and still not working... the light for the wireless guitar blinks and turns solid, but the guitar and drums do not get assigned controller numbers.

Does anyone know why? -- or more importantly how to get me back to the state where wiigator's backup launcher will work with the rockband equipment?

Thanks.

p.s. Good work Waninkoko, thank you! and I can't wait for full usb support from the usb loaders, then no more disc swapping period! I look forward to the day i don't have to get off the couch to play all my games lol

Yea ps3 is a beast still to today compared to most "sticks"

If you just want pi for emulation no point when Anbernic releases new shit every two seconds
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.
    +1
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.

    Tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Tootles? Wtf
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Oh tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Oh totes , lol, like Tupperware storage, I gotcha
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Gonna check out the new Garfield looks like garbage
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Can't wait to see the new "stick" that can actually play Ps3 or 360 games. I know they are getting close.
