I installed CIOS 38 Rev 13 (and later the 13b release too)... I then tried wiigator's backup launcher and it worked -- YAY! We're back to one IOS for both USB and CD Backup loaders -- but then when I load any of my rockbands through wiigator's backup launcher it seems to have lost support for the USB guitar and equipment... OK... We know this, but when I rolled back to the CIOS36 Rev 7 wad that did work with the rockband equipment when using Wiigator's launcher, the Equipment still fails to work.

I even tried to re-install CIOS36 Rev 10, then the CIOS36 Rev 7 wad and still not working... the light for the wireless guitar blinks and turns solid, but the guitar and drums do not get assigned controller numbers.

Does anyone know why? -- or more importantly how to get me back to the state where wiigator's backup launcher will work with the rockband equipment?

Thanks.

p.s. Good work Waninkoko, thank you! and I can't wait for full usb support from the usb loaders, then no more disc swapping period! I look forward to the day i don't have to get off the couch to play all my games lol

What?

Backup loaders have worked on ever cIOS I have used right up until 12..which I am running currently due to the 13 issues, so I don't know where you are coming from...

For that matter, USB loaders have been working for a few releases as well. So, the day you are "looking forward to" has been around for a long time now.

Hi,

As you wrote yourself rev12 an 13 affect IOS 38
no use to change back to IOS36 revxx, then ?

I think... but may be i am wrong

Hi,

None of the USB HD/SD loaders supported the USB peripheral support (such as the rockband guitar and mic and stuff) prior to Rev 12, and the Rockband Guitar and Drums still don't work. WiiGator's Backup Launcher didn't work with CIOS 36 Rev 10, you had to use rev 9 or earlier... but it did work with the USB Peripherals.

This is what i am looking forward to... being able to load the game from a USB HD and being able to use the USB peripherals... sorry if that wasn't clear.

In any event, I think my original question is stated clearly enough.... I upgraded to Rev 13, then tried to downgrade to Rev 7 and the Wiigator Backup launcher lost it's ability to recognize the USB peripherals. This is what I need help with... anyone else experience this?

CIOS38 revXX gets stored in the Wii as CIOS 249 (which is what CIOS36 revXX is stored as), I needed to reload CIOS36 rev 7 back into CIOS 249 to get WiiGator's Launcher to work with USB peripherals. Problem is, it's not working the way it used to....

Actually, if you install Herme's cIOS (choose IOS223 and then IOS36 and 36 merge) you can play a backup of rock band with uLoader (a usb loader) by choosing to run the game with IOS223.

... And the Guitar and Drums work?

I've been using Waninkoko's USB loader and a couple of graphical front end ones based on his... they would load the game, but none of the peripherals would work.

(EDIT - Thanks, after a quick search, I found instructions on how to do this... I'll try it out, but I'm still curious as to why my previously described situation isn't working anymore either... )

cIOS36 and cIOS38 are based off of IOS36 and IOS38 respectively, but they install as IOS249, so they would overwrite each other.
At least I think that's the case... Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ok... I tried the above, I merged IOS37 with IOS36 into IOS223. Here's what happens -

- I go to HBC and the light on the Rockband Guitar USB receiver is blinking like it should.

- I load uloader and the light turns off (as if the port is disabled)

- I then go to Rockband and select it to use IOS 223.

- I launch Rockband and the game starts -- BUT -- the USB Rockband Guitar USB receiver light never comes back on... and therefore I can't use the rockband equipment.

This is what happened with every other USB HD loader I've used...

I've tried re-installing IOS223 again, same results. I get no errors when I do this - it says installation was successful. Any ideas regarding what's wrong?

I was referring to:

"I then tried wiigator's backup launcher and it worked -- YAY! We're back to one IOS for both USB and CD Backup loaders"

You were speaking as though previous cIOS's were not working to use USB and DVD loaders. You spoke of the USB peripheral support as an afterthought...

cIOS rev13b is much faster than rev12 for me and I haven't experienced any "002 errors". I think Waninkoko said it was fixed on IRC, but he was obviosly too lazy to remove the rant about proper loaders:

Error 002? Use a proper loader | THIS IS AN ENGLISH SPEAKING CHANNEL, USE IT! | 02 ERROR is the LOADERS FAULT GET !neogamma

(that he actually didn't put up there himself in the first place.)

Animal Crossing is not working with cIOS 12, 13 and 13b if WiiConnect24 ist enabled. I get random freezes during the game and i have to hard reset the console.

But I have to admit, cIOS 13 is much faster than the older cIOS versions. Very good work by waninkoko.

QUOTE(jono@home @ Jun 2 2009, 06:42 PM) Back to cios rev 11 for me.. again...

It is the most stable for my harddrive iomega prestige 320gb

same problem as with cios rev 12...

(yes using USB1)

fails to detect hard drive, in the other usb port the countdown goes in super slow mode....

*waits for rev 14 and hopes to god it clears that issue up*

got same drive and same problems

Got the same drive (from Tesco I presume). Not sure if you are having same issue as me.

Rev10 and Rev11 intermittent connection with USBLoader 1.5 and CoverFloader. Sometimes the drive is recognised and sometimes not.

I have a Maxtor One Touch 60GB which is recognised each and every time.

Any suggestions on what the problem could be.

Wii is on 3.2E (Downgraded from 3.4E).

Cheers

yeh from tesco's GOOD DEAL ON IT...!!!

Revison 11 works the best.... usb loader gx... i use.. Detects the drive the majority of the time...

Works best turning Wii on from being off (not in standby)

I have preloader 0.29 firmware 4.0e installed, I enabled the function ingnore stanby setting in the settings menu.. (allows you to have wiiconnect on, but not turn off wii to standby the majority of the time)

also take it apart and connect to computer and use hd parm to adjust spindown setting to 0

Yep Tesco lol

I guess GX has the best compatibility?

those maxtor drives might just work with the seagate software you know, might not need hdparm
(seagate owns maxtor so the software tends to work as well)
