Speed issues are fixed in "coming soon" rev13.

what about usb loaders not working with rev 12 but fine on rev10

What loaders aren't working?

More then likely its the way your hard drive is plugged into the wii and not the loader.

Gx Loader and waninkoko official 1.5 loader work fine for me with rev12.I will test out the coverflow loaders later today

why not a good idea?

I always uninstall the previous rev with the cIOS Uninstaller when I need to update it....
Its not that something will go wrong, but if something happens, you got no cIOS anymore (unless u have cioscorp)
Besides, why uninstall it if you can simply overwrite it?

With all the negative feedback in this thread I want to give some positive news as well.
Since I installed rev12, I found that when playing GH Metallica (started with usbloader_gx) there are no more small 'stops' while playing a song.
Because this was very annoying and this is one of the games i play most frequently, I'll stick with rev12.
Thnx Waninkoko

There is no statement about cIOS rev12 on Wanin's blog, and it appears that the file is hosted by SoftMii. It's just like what happened with cIOS rev11.

I am doubtful about this release.

Have no fear. I get the news straight from the source. Even before its posted on the Waninkoko Blog.

I would never post anything fake or suspicious.

I take this very seriously.

for anyone unhappy with rev12, I'd recommend going back to rev11, not rev10. rev11 from SoftMii has been a whole lot better than rev10 for me.

I am still using rev9. Stable.

Well...sometimes I heard of problems reading backups or else when simply overwriting.....
once I had a similar problem when I tried to update the cMIOS without uninstalling the previous rev first: the GC Backup Launcher didn't read dvds anymore....

It is never a good idea to uninstall an IOS, I know this one is good to uninstall it, but some n00b can read your post and then uninstall all of the IOSes in the Wii, as many many many many many people have done already, and then came here complaining they uninstalled the IOSes and now the Wii only displays a black screen, got it..??

GH Metallica always worked fine for me from disc or USB, maybe is the loader the one failling...!!

How about the HD Spin Down issue ? Thanks !

You need to fix that in you HDD, the Wii or the cIOS or the loader have nothing to do with it...!!

Isn't rev11 only for LU64+ unsoftmoddable users..??

mh? what?
if I say "just use the cIOS Uninstaller to unistall the previous cIOS, and the install the new/old one", how could somebody think that I'm telling you to uninstall other IOSes???
Also, the cIOS uninstaller just cancel the cIOS......

Like the old saying says, "Noobs will be noobs. They'll misunderstand you and then blame you for it." Regardless, it's better to just overwrite rather than delete and install. One step simpler, no?

That is a nice suggestion but a little pointless for those that can't change any settings on their HDD.

In most of the externalHDDs it is a little piece of hardware that is attached to the HDD that causes the spin downs. it shouldnt be to hard to remove it with a soldering iron.
