just made a wad from airwolf. it did work, i think i found what is going on, but i don't know how to solve it yet...

airwolf only need a joystick fire button to start. all the other games need a F1 or something else to get started, so i think there is something wrong with the keyboard interface like i noticed first with my duotris wad. i Don't know why this is, maybe the keyboard.bin which is bad?

any ideas on this?

CIA chip's state (there are two of them) is not properly restored in the current custom frodo, that may be the problem. Is it the same in the pc side? Btw, where in the game are you taking snapshots? It's cleanest if it's taken right after running the game in the emulator. I also faced the same problem with the disk util i injected into international karate... it was spitting 20-30 characters at the press of a single key

i tried taking them in various points of the games, all given me the same result.

the custom frodo works great with the snapshots, so it is clearly a problem that the wii frodo has with the snaps/keyboard after packing... (although it is strange that is works on the giana sisters and duotris but not on other games...)

Maybe it's kind of a protection put into the emu yet I doubt so... It's impractical to implement such a security mechanism... Maybe they didn't crafted the emu well so it may be a bug too...

Here is an interesting read : http://www.vc-reviews.com/news/2008/10/kaa...virtual_console

Seems just a single person aware of all this, his response is "Well my Commodore 64 setup is on its last legs as it is...they'd better hurry and bring these games to the US Wii Virtual Console or I'm afraid I'll have to resort to less ethical solutions. And while I'm at it, here is a list of C64 titles I'd like to see: Master of the Lamps, Karateka, Jumpman Jr., Forbidden Forest, and Breakdance. "

good news guys, i've got wonderboy to work with something that might have a solution to all the keyboard problems...

i made a snapshot after loading the game but before typing run.

the game is loaded in the memory of the snapshot, so you only have to press run. and it makes a clean snapshot as it is still in the C64 clean sheet (not in the game or anything... not even ingame loading)

i want to try this with other games tomorrow...

Good news, when giving advice I didn't want to overkill

It seems you did... actually it's not nice taking snapshot right there yet if it works we can do with it now

I hopefully can get the cia state right in the emu after I get my wii unbricked...

gr8 work so far hope this works out well!

on the topic of wads:

I have read here in the forums someone bricked from a VC wad and a mario RPG wad? is there currently a List here in the forums to identify theese "bricker wads" that are released so that we might check such a list before installing the wad?

well, you are right gundalf, this is a much better thread for this...

if you read back on some posts, you'll see what i've done ;-)

it comes to this. just make the screenshot with custom frodo before you press run and after you loaded the game...

that made all games work as far for now, only problem is that if you do back to title screen, you'll need to run it again...

You mean i should make it on the title screen or when the Game has allready started?

By the way, sometimes i have the problem that it all works, but not the controlls on the Wii.
I hope Wiicrazy can make new progress and maybe we have one day all games in one wad

you should load the game in frodo, don't press run. take a snapshot(on titlescreen before the game runs and even before typing run), and then take that snapshot to convert it...

edit: that should fix the problem with no wiimote controls working... and other strange stuff...

If that is the case then it sounds like a command line option is finally viable. You can't tell me that taking a snapshot before running the game isn't somethng that can be done without user intervention.
