I WOULD PERSONALLY WAIT ON INSTALLING. LOTS OF BRICK REPORTS LOTS OF UNKNOWN REASONS AS TO WHY. WAITING SEEMS LIKE THE BEST BET, BUT IT IS OUT THERE FOR THOSE FEELING BRAVE, IT HAS HAD SUCCESS, BUT AGAIN LOTS OF BRICK REPORTS WAITING IS ADVISED IN MY OPINION

BEWARE LOTS OF REPORTS OF CONSOLE BRICKS

WARNING!
RISK OF BRICK ON CONSOLE 60GB FAT SO YOU WAIT FOR THE FIX!!

TUTORIAL 1

WARNING! RISK OF BRICK ON CONSOLE 60GB FAT SO YOU WAIT FOR THE FIX!!

the slim is safe just install the official 3.55 firmware before version patched, and install it normally

Good luck!

HOW TO UPGRADE MY PS3 TO THE OFW 3.55 ?

TUTORIAL 2

This tutorial explains how to upgrade your PlayStation 3 (PS3) in a later version of your choice and without internet. This tutorial does not explain how to downgrade your version of the PS3.

STEP 1:

1. -Un disque dur ou clé usb formaté en FAT32.
2. -PS3UPDAT.PUP Version. (know the version of an update)

STEP 2:

1. -You must download the update PS3 on your computer. Depending on the version you want to install
2. -3.55 : OFW

STEP 3 (Verification):

- Now to be sure to have the correct file, and not a version containing the jailbreak corrected, Click "PS3UPDAT.PUP File " and choose a file previously downloaded. The program will confirm the firmware version included in this file.

STEP 4:

1. - Take your external USB device, create a folder "PS3".
2. - In the folder "PS3" Create a folder "UPDATE".
3. - Then paste in this folder "UPDATE" the file PS3UPDAT.PU

P.

STEP 5 (FINAL):

1. - Connect your USB / hard drive and turn on the PS3 (The ps3 must be not jailbroken).
2. - Select (Settings)> (System Update).
3. - Specify that you want to update via storage media (and not via the internet, otherwise you will have the latest version available, which corrects the jailbreak).
4. - Confirm the update.

Isn't your fault though, you chose to install it in the first place...

try this

It is possible to get rid of the brick to update wanikoko.

How? ... needed if or if an USB dingle (ps3key, etc ... there are from 11 € in Coupe)

1) Put the console via a USB factory jig
2) We will put in the update root 3.55 (PS3UPDAT.PUP) and also lv2diag of naima.
3) Turn on the ps3 and see what the stick flashes ... let them set up well.
4) There will come a time when the green LED will start blinking ps3 indefinitely, turn off the PS3 and removed the jig.
5) light the ps3, and if everything went well we usually turn on the red box showing us the factory mode.
6) Turn off ps3, remove the state of factory mode, and turn on.

solved.

(not my solution)
Won't work it runs in lv2 and lv2 is bricked.

You have no right to complain. Even Microsoft have similar disclaimers in paid for software (have you ever read a Windows EULA?). Learn to take some responsibility for your own actions. You wanted something for nothing knowing the risks, man up bitch.

Cheers to all the people with a brick...
I fixed a brick on my 60gb(launch-console) with the 3.50 to 3.41 downgrade-method:

Download this package from any Filehoster.http://www.multiupload.com/H3A8GAJ8GS

After unrar the package, put the data inside the "Lv2diag.self FILE 1 folder" to the root of a normal usb-stick.

Take the "PS3UPDAT.PUP" inside "Modified 3.41 PUP" folder, create this folder structure on your usb-stick:
PS3->UPDATE

Waninkoko is currently working on fixing a known issue with his firmware. Its an issue that is causing the "almost random" bricks. Just give it time and all will work out.
