You're a loser if you have to 'hack' your illegally gotten VC and WiiWare games in, they are quality programs and I have no problem with buying them, and I play the heck out of them before buying another one.

Just BUY Lost Winds.

Even cheaper, mod your wii. Don't act like you're entitled to stealing games or something, and if you actually want to do the homebrew/piracy thing, all the technology is available. What it boils down to is you're too lazy.

I buy Wii games, because I find using a modchip complicated, but I pirate everything else VC&WW titles and of course the snes emulator.

JJBro wait until there is another exploit.
IT"S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this isnt good news. i have to send my wii in this week. i bet it will come back with the new firmware. i hear theyve found an exploit but its not out yet.

I'm going to call BS on this...

The repair centers don't even "repair" your console -- they send you a refurbished console, transfer your data over, and send it back. When I sent in my launch console, it came back with retail firmware, even though they had gone through several firmware releases by the time it got back to me.

The person you spoke to was probably aware of the Twilight Hack and was messing with you. Your calling them could've just tipped them off that you're a thief and now they're going to intentionally update it for you.

Imagine how much work it would take for them to re-test every refurbished console with the new update before sending it out.

It's not cost effective at all.

no they told me specifically that the console was repaired and the firmware update for 3.3U was a requirement for the procedure. Trust me i wouldn't joke about this. I tried to make sure my console wasn't going to get updated. They're not giving me a refurbished console theyre repairing the one i have right now.

That's not procedure, it's BS.

Even if they do update the console to 3.3, you won't be recieving your console -- you'll be recieving one that has already been refurbished.

The turn-around time for repairing and returning consoles would be rediculous if they did it any other way.

I'm agreeing with teq. Microsoft and Nintendo rarely ever return the same console you send back to them.
This is why so many people were glad to have RROD when they got an HDMI version of their 360 when it was returned.
My experiences with nintendo were the same. Everything I've ever warrantied came back as a different refurbished console.

I believe they only send back the same console if they're having an extreme shortage (not likely at a repair center) or if you specifically request it.

well we'll find out if it's mine or not because i have a scratch on mine that messed up the paint. So your suggesting that they only updated my console because they were suspicious of me wanting it not to be updated? I hope that's not the case because this whole morning i was debating with myself, call them and try to prevent them from updating it and risk them being suspicious and updating it anyway, or don't call them and hope they never update it but risk them updating it without my knowledge and end up kicking myself in the butt for not calling them.

So if it's a refurbished console with the the new firmware should i complain and try to get my old one? They did say they "fixed" mine. They never mentioned a replacement. Believe me i was with the phone all day with them.

Talking to a bunch of people over the customer support line is only going to get you BS no matter how many times you ask for the supervisor.

Complaining isn't going to get you anywhere, and they could care less about what version your wii is. If you get someone with a bad mood he/she may even tell you that you have voided your warrenty by attempting homebrew. There's no legit reason you could give for wanting an older firmware version, especially when 3.3 does nothing but destroy the exploit.

Eitherway, it's not worth your time and effort. By the time you get your wii back, the new save that will work on 3.3U will most likely be released. If not, then just have patience.

Your five years old.
Can't understand a word you type as it is pure "Engrish"
It's sad that you live in America, and have such poor English.
When you add it all up.Your 5 years old.

Stop whining and another exploit might pop out for people who updated their Wii's.

in your opinion do you think if i never called, would they have updated it?

They never mention a replacement, because it's just common practice.

Requesting to have your specific console back does absolutely nothing. There was an article about a guy who had his 360 signed by a bunch of developers at Bungie and the Microsoft Repair Center wiped off the signatures, because cleaning the consoles is procedure.

You have to consider that these repair centers are contracted by Nintendo and the employees are just being paid to follow procedure. They are third party distribution centers that handle refurbishing a lot of different electronics.

In fact, the number you're calling is a generic line that handles all of the repair centers. The most they're able to do is track the status of your repair, but have no specific knowledge of it.

Well it's very difficult to read, and it says alot.

Anyways it's only a matter of time before another exploit is found.

Given the fact that this entire update is about stopping our hacks/TP save games. I would imagine it being standard procedure to update ALL wii's they have now to 3.3, thats what they want. Its there best defense.
I do agree with Ryu though that, they arent gonna care if you wanted it to 3.2 as the only reason for this is to stop the hacks so they have to know.

They won't be giving you the number or anything. Just face it, there's nothing you can do now.
Just wait. Have some god damn patience, and stop worrying so much about your precious homebrew/vc/etc.
Everything will be fine in good time.
