This thread needs to be closed... it's getting out of hand.

Bottom line:

Nintendo does not recieve your console when you send it in, a third party does.

Thus, Nintendo does not service your console.

You are sent back a refurbished Wii with all of your data transferred to it.

The probability of recieving a Wii with firmware newer than 3.0 is slim to none.

ok after this post I want this thread closed. I got my wii today and it was the same one i sent in, I know this because the scratch is still there. However the firmware is 3.1U which is before the firmware my wii had when i sent it in (the wiiware and nintendo channel firmware). I admit I was wrong but how was I supposed to know this was going to happen when the rep told me that it was updated to 3.3U? Anyway problem solved, no more replies.

Did you happen to write down the serial number of the Wii you sent in?

I can guarantee it's not the same Wii if the one you sent in had a physical problem.

You should know to never trust a "representative" on the phone. Maybe you should go apologize to all those websites you tipped off.

On the rare occasion they send back the same unit, they usually replace the serial number so then your warranty is renewed.........i think.
Actually maybe not.

My cousin's scratched it off but nintendo slapped a new one on. I know for a fact that this is the same wii because there is a black scratch on it and it's still there.

what other websites? I only tipped it to gonintendo. I did tell them not to update it, maybe they listened at the last minute? YA I've learned that reps don't know jack about anything.

The warranty is tied to the serial number and is valid for exactly a year.

When you send in your console, your warranty on the new console lasts 65 days OR the remainder of the original year -- whichever is less.

That's straight from Nintendo.

When I sent my ds lite for replacements, I got another year warranty...

It never takes too long for people to find the loopholes and exploit them--or else you could go spend 40 bucks on a game to keep you busy until then, or--and this is going to sound crazy, but it could work--or maybe you could dust off your older game consoles and spend a little time with your DS if you have one.

If not, then you could always READ a book or something...have paitience, something will come along.
BUT ALL MY OLDER CONSOLES ARE ON Wii!!!! HAHAHA
