I am one of the stupid guy who only play game on flash card which is dumped myself, but I know this is illegal but not my own countryÂ

Looks like part of this was quoted from another thread but... Anyways what hardware beyond a flashed DS do you use to accomplish this?

Also can you tell me if FlashMe is compatible with my unit? I get a magenta screen when I do the PictoChat test (ejecting the game at the pictochat screen)

EDIT: I just tried O.G's suggestion. Definately a no go. I'm going to give up the run on an unflashed unit. I can backup the GBA games I have right now. I've got clean dumps which crc match a site I checked where they list them at. I also have an "unreleased to the internet" version of Zelda: Link to the Past which doesn't pair up with what is out there now. That is how I even got started on this run. If I do the flashing then I will probably do it with the unit I have now and get a special edition unit for regular use.

U can use yr own R4 to flash your NDSL with flashme V8.0

and then dump with your M3L using Gbalpha Dumper V1.0

Check the CRC with the offline list to make sure u got a good dump

if the game is unrelease, there are some tools to let u check this is good dump

Well it is good to know that the hardware that I purchased will work well for the purpose once I have flashed the unit. I think I need to get another 1GB (or 512MB) microSD card though. I am tired of emptying out the contents of the card for the M3 adapter each time I try to dump a NDS cart.

Now I just need to find where they are selling those special edition Nintendo DS units. If I can find one of the FF3 units then I will be set.

Yea. But not to flash. It would be for my own use. The one I have now would be flashed and be my experiment unit so to speak. My "throw-away" NDSL that I can do whatever I want. If I can find a FF3 special edition NDSL then I would be happy. I've seen pictures of it and I liked it. Probably will have to import it.

EDIT: Um... yea.... Maybe not. 5 units on amazon.com. $450+ each. Maybe I'll just stick to standard NDSL units.

Hong Kong have some stock but it selling at HKD2500- HKD3000

FF12RW special edition selling abort HKD2200-HKD2500

If money is not a problem, just buy it
biggrin.gif

EDIT: 450+ is US dollar? It's Crazy, maybe I have to sumbit a ebay account for selling NDSL

Yea. That is US dollar. The price is for special edition units though. This is over double of the original selling price. I'll just go out and get a regular DS for $120. Alot cheaper that way.

Ok. I've got a question. I will be going out and getting another NDS to flash but should I just get a new NDS Lite or should I get an older NDS unit? The fat version that used to be out. I can easily get my hands on one of those for $100 at my local EBGames store which would save me about $30. All things considered the Passkey setup would work better on those units? I should have a Passkey 2 here soon. I bought one online and they reported it should of shipped today. The only online store to actually have any in stock at all. Considering they don't make them anymore...

P.S. - I've had interesting experiences when stopping by EBGames. Both of my local stores... At one I mentioned that I had FF12 for DS and I showed it to him but it was on my flash cart ( I was trying it out -- will buy upon US release ). The other store I pulled it out and was putting in a GBA game. Had to pull out my M3 Perfect Lite and he immediately asked where I got them because he was trying to figure out where to buy them at.

actaull in the uk, downloading is allowed, bt uploading is illegal.

nope no its not.... if that was the case everyone would just download and we would be allowed to walk around with copys of dvds. the police just dont care about it. I can just picture that

going on to nintendo website "whens pokemon out" they reply with "its already out"....."thanks im about to download it, its ok im from the uk im allowed"

i wanna dump my own DS carts two. I have the m3 lite and simply, and an old supercard CF. If i flash the old ds, will the dumper work with the supercard CF?

It may be possible. You will need to boot with the M3 Lite in DS mode, start WRT Dumper, then use the Supercard CF as the storage device. This is due to the fact that WRT Dumper only supports CF storage units. I have a flashed unit on the way thanks to another member on this forum and when I get it I still may need to get a CF card based stot 2 unit. Not that I will have any trouble finding that.... Heck I found someone selling new passkey 2's.

wait this wrg dumper only dumps gba unless i have the wrong file. Which dumper dumps NDS roms (not gba) that actually works!?

Actually, that is a point of contention. The illegal act is actually the distributing of a copy. The actual downloading is questionable. There has been very little caselaw, as the companies usually go after people who post the files, or people using P2P file sharing meathods which involve distributing in addition to downloading.

The main theory behind illegality of the downloading is that the user requesting the download is causing the device to create a new copy, and distribute it (give it to the user). Because the device is acting on behalf of the user, the user is liable for the laws being broken.

To the best of my knowledge that theory has not been tested in US court. (I have no clue if it has been tested in other courts). I would not be surprised to see the theory upheld, but I'm not aware that it has been.

my ds phat is now flashed with flash stealth. And the wrg dumper now has the ds rom dump option. But the supercard CF seems to restart the gba function so it cant act as the storage device. So wheres the cheapest and fastest way i can get an m3 CF? Or will gbamp v2 work? I just want the cheapest form of storage device for the dumps.

I don't know about cheap but sozoryoku.us claims they have some of the m3 cf units in stock. You may want to email them first before ordering but they do get the item to you eventually. They don't provide any tracking so it is really faith that they held up to their end and actually shipped it. I ordered a very hard to find passkey 2 unit from them a while back.

Also I forgot to mention that m3 has a dumper of their own. It supposedly works with both CF and SD card versions so it is supposed to work with your m3 lite. Anyways I will find out soon enough since I am expecting my ds to arrive soon.

problem is the m3 lite is microsd not sd which means it may or may not work. Actually does any one know if gbamp V2 CF works? I believe chism made a firmware upgrade for it to accept such dumps and its alot cheaper than an M3 CF.

The DS game you want to dump needs to be in the slot 1 prior to starting the WRG Dumper. Also, if you're using a passcard, remove the passcard for the ds game when you reach the main menu of your flash cart, before starting the WRG dumper.

QUOTE(SpikeyNDS @ May 31 2007, 08:22 PM)If you're going to dump with WRG dumper you need to have a flashed DS or use a passcard. If you use a passcard, when on the menu, but before booting the WRG dumper, swap out the passcard for the game you want to dump. Then boot it. Should give you an option to dump NDS. Go into that option and insert either a GBA Movie Player v2 or M3 CF. Those are the ONLY things that will work. Then you press start and the dumping should begin. Then after a period of time it'll ask you to reinsert the game, so do as it says and press start. Once that's done, you should have your game dumped onto your CF card.

EDIT: Also, you can't use the M3 CF to boot the WRG dumper, you need a totally separate slot 2 cart to do that.

hey thanks for the help spikeynds

. I had my ds phat flashed recently so i see the nds dumper option. I guess now ill just buy a gbamp v2 CF then as that could save me alot of money vs the m3 CF. Will chism's hack allow the gbamp v 2 to activate the wrg dumper? if not, i suppose ill just use my m3 lite for that. Also, will this work for uploading/downloading saver ds files? That's the next step after getting my own dumps working. Ive seen alot of options for this like reinmoon or sav sender or eepinator but would like to know whats compatible with the m3 product line.

You need to use a separate cart from the one your dumping to to boot the dumper. No booting from GBAMPv2 or M3CF if you're using those carts to dump. One cart needs to boot the dumper, then swap in for the GBAMPv2 or M3CF.
