Hacking Cracked hinge led to dead DS lite

I think I already know the answer to this but I wanted to post for a second or more opinion.

I replaced the cracked hinge with a new case and after putting it all together it won't turn on, mostly. The LED turns on dim green, then bright green, I can hear a click from the speaker and then it shuts off. I have tried reseating the cable for both the top and bottom screen and still nothing. Other than replacing the top screen or paying nintendo $75 to fix it does anyone have any suggestions?

Check if the flatwire is scratched or something.
Same thing happend to me and the Touch doesn't work.

Does one of the screens flash when powering on? If not, the SL1 or SL2 fuse has blown.
Go here for instructions on how to fix them.
Remember to check which fuse has blown with a multimeter (voltage meter).
